Holiday Edition: July 2025
July Holiday Edition
Happy July! We are now in the 7th month of the year. It’s the time of the year we focus on taking it easier. From the kids being out of school to planned vacations, day trips and more.

4th of July Celebrations
This year, the Fourth of July felt less like a celebration and more like an opportunity to rest and reflect. I skipped the fireworks and leaned into joy on my own terms—good food, laughter with family, and a playlist full of nostalgia. No red, white, and blue decor. Just Black-owned brands, affirmations, and softness. We’re allowed to reclaim holidays however we need. Whether you turned up or tuned out, I hope you honored what feels good to you. Liberation starts from within.

What July Tastes Like: A Sensory Snapshot
July tastes like sweet watermelon kissed by sun and sea salt. It smells like charcoal from a neighbor’s grill and sounds like laughter echoing through a cracked screen door. This month reminds me to slow down, take off the mask of productivity, and breathe in the moment. My self-care this summer? Savoring textures and flavors that ground me. Less hustle, more honeydew. If you haven’t already—take a barefoot walk, eat something juicy, let the season show you how to just be.
A July worth Savoring
This July, let’s choose presence over pressure. Whether it’s an unplugged picnic, a barefoot walk, or supporting a local Black-owned spot, joy doesn’t need to be big to be real. Mid-year check-ins don’t have to feel heavy—we can pause, breathe, and realign without judgment. I’m leaning into softness this month: music nights on the patio, journaling with a fan humming, and showing up for my community when it counts. Want to join me? Start your own “summer soft list.” What’s one thing you’re doing this month just for you?

10th Year Blogiversary
I celebrated 10 years as a Blogger. Although I didn’t get a chance to celebrate really big, I definitely will in the near future. This is a huge accomplishment. I started this after my postpartum struggle. That time was sacred. I was already struggling with my body and mind after my last baby. In addition every change that could happen in these 10 years I have gone through them while also pushing through and sticking to what I love.
The collaborations are also one of the parts I love. Being able to decide what I want to get involved in or walk away has given me a sense of accomplishment.

July Events
I will be sharing all events as they come on the Facebook page. That is where I keep the most up to date events. Follow it and make sure you get the deets as often times I have deals that you won’t find online as I continue to partner with companies.
Ways to Celebrate in the Month of July
Holidays here we come:
-
- Make a “joyful movement” playlist and dance in your kitchen
- Explore cold drinks as self-care—herbal teas, infused waters, mocktails
- Create a tech boundary—no scrolling before sunrise or after sunset
- Try a 5-minute journaling practice: “Today I need…”
- Visit a green space and leave your shoes off
- Schedule a solo lunch date with you
- Write a “thank you” note to your past self
- Try a guided meditation or sleep story before bed
- Light a candle just because—it doesn’t need to be a mood
- Reorganize a small space to reflect how you want to feel
As a content creator it works better with support and although it’s not mandatory, if anyone who wants to buy me a coffee can. Helping Content Creators with a tip is an amazing great way to help us do what we love as we stay consistent in our work.
