Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Diner en Blanc was something special. This past Thursday the city of Philadelphia turned into a beautiful sea of white everything. The Diner en Blanc is all about bringing people together in their best white to dine and have the most amazing time. This is my second Diner en Blanc and it was something to experience.

Diner en Blanc the Experience

From the time we stepped our feet on the scene which by the way was the Please Touch Museum, it was magical. As a media personnel we had separate instructions. By the time I got on the scene there were several people already situated and set in place. Walking through the sea of all the beautiful tables, and amazing outfits set the tone for what the night was set up to be. As a media personnel we enjoyed good food, plenty of water and of course champagne and wine that poured all night long. It had rained so hard all day as we all prepped to get there. It was so good to see the sun and the clear skies appear just in time for the fun to begin.

Wearing all White and White Dining and Decorations

After my girl Josephine and I enjoyed food and more we also went walking around to see some of the table decorations. There were so many beautiful ones to choose from. One of the ones that I feel in love with was one that was dedicated to the loved ones who had transitioned. I met the mother who decorated the table, and she shared her beautiful daughter that had passed. Beautiful young lady and her mother’s spirit was bright. I thanked the mother for sharing her daughter with us. In addition, it just took the decorations to such a personal level.

There were other tables who adhered to the theme of light ups. The sparkle, spins of the tables were not to be outdone. However, each table came with their A-game. It was a display of creativity that brought so much joy to the night as well.

Let’s Dance

One of the things that I have always appreciated coming from a musical family is live music. Live music elevates your experience in ways that make it magical. Diner en Blanc had the best of the best there. Hot Club of Philadelphia and West Philadelphia Orchestra serenaded us with French sounds as everyone set up and dined. It was melodic to experience. In addition, when it was time to party, Ernest Stuart with Range da Messenga had us rocking back and forth with music as we celebrated the 50 years of hip hop. I and those around me danced the night away. Even when we left, we danced all the way to the car. Dancing is such a form of self-care. This is why I made sure to limit my alcohol intake so I could be present in this experience.

Bites, Wines, and Champagne

As I stated above, we had so much to drink available. They kept us hydrated with water both sparkling and regular however the wines and champagnes never stopped flowing at least until I left at 1045 pm and the night was scheduled to end at 11pm. The food was delicious in every way from Feast Your Eyes Catering. Patrons were also able to preorder food from them as well so that would be one less thing to bring with them. At the media table they had us full which helped to make sure that we didn’t have too much to drink but not enough food to absorb. Full of flavor and many options for everyone I really enjoyed the spread.

Enjoying the Vibes of Diner en Blanc

The entire night was light. Not one sour or sad face was seen. I loved how the city came together to enjoy and celebrate. It was great seeing people tell strangers that they looked beautiful. I saw folks who didn’t know one another show love to one another. Honestly its moments like this that I want to bottle it up. Philadelphia does a lot of negative things but this and many other magical events they get right. Congrats to the entire team of Philly PR Girl who did such an amazing job pulling it off. I made sure to let them know that they had done well because in the PR world things go left often. Give people their flowers while they can smell it.

So, if you couldn’t go this year and are considering it for next year, the answer is add it to the top of your list. It was a fun, beautiful, joyful, and entertaining night. Thank you Philly PR Girl and Diner en Blanc for having me I look forward to next year.
