Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Get your holiday lights on with Luminocity Festival held at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center now until January 15th. The theme is Golden Holiday and I must say they hit it out the park. It is also located in Maryland and New York. So what’s your before you go, pro tips and more.

Before you go to Luminocity Festival

It is highly suggested that you get your tickets before you go. They do have some limited capacity to purchase on site. However with all technology it could go out. So have your tickets ahead of time. Once purchased you can’t exchange them for a different day or time. So make sure you are committed to the time slot that you choose. Keep in mind that as the holidays get into full gear that the crowds will increase. Going during the week that doesn’t coincide with school letting out may be a better option.

Consider also getting a VIP ticket. It includes a goodie bag, fast entrance, and 15% off the gift shop! It is all walkable. So wear your most comfortable shoe. I was there for about 2 hours. It may be a different experience for you since I went on opening day where there was limited people present.

A few Rules to keep in mind

As always there are some rules. You can read the full rules here but here are some that stand out when going to these type of events. Strollers are permitted. There is no stroller holding area. So if you leave your stroller at a spot it is at your discretion. A little extra note, please be aware of people around you when pushing a stroller. Be careful to not hit others. This should be a known thing but I’ve seen people get hit multiple times.

You can bring your own food. This is something I’ve never seen before. However you can. Of course no picnic set ups. There are food and vendors. The food options are so good. You may want to eat and drink there. I enjoyed the most amazing peppermint espresso martini.

Customer Service while There

Only one manager knew I was coming. Which meant I was able to walk up and test the customer service. You know that I don’t like to reveal who I am until I’m deep in. They passed the vibe check. I’m my daughter and I got nothing but warm smiles and a generous welcome. Once they knew who I was they continued the amazing customer service. While there staff walked up to me and others to check in on us. Even in the Holiday Lounge where we were served food and drinks the staff was amazing.

Keep in mind while there to treat the staff with respect. They are human. He kind and courteous. Obviously while we were there it was unseasonably warmer than normal. It will get colder and temperatures of patrons could flare. Be mindful of yourself and your family.

The Displays

There are over 30 displays to see. Pro tip: go through and then reverse and go through again. Before you leave, stand in the middle to see that you went to all of the them. I noticed that I had missed quite a few and had to back through them. Each display was breathtaking. As crowds get in be mindful to get your video and shots and move forward. This is key to allowing everyone to take in the experience. Do not touch the displays that are roped off. It was roped off for a reason.

Watch your children. Already there were a few children whose parents weren’t as watchful. This is to be enjoyed by all. It is ADA compatible too. So everyone can see and view without an issue.

Holiday Lounge

Like I stated above, the Holiday Lounge is a great spot to get food and drinks. There is also another bar on location. You can eat and drink while you walk. I highly suggest a hot chocolate both regular or boozy. They are delicious. My youngest enjoyed some Mac and cheese. The food was hot. Be prepared for that. Watch younger kids.

There is also many tables for you and your crew to sit and enjoy your food too. It’s also a welcome break from the cold too.

Is Luminocity worth it?

Yes. There are a few light festivals here but this one is top notch. Free parking also sweetens the deal too. There a lot to see, take in, some interactive things, great food and drinks. I’ll be going back to take my other 2 kids and husband. You will walk away making memories and that alone is worth it too. Thank you to the staff of Luminocity Festival both on the back end and those on the ground. The experience for me my family and I will remember for a lifetime.
