Pretty Woman

I would like to think that most have seen Pretty Woman the movie featuring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. A movie that takes a spin on a modernized Cinderella story of finding love and yourself. The Kimmel Center presents Pretty Woman the Musical is an excellent masterpiece full of excellent singing and story telling that the Kimmel Center is known for.

Captivating Show

Pretty Women the Musical is amazingly captivating. From the opening number to the close the energy of the actors/actresses is outstanding. One of the things that I love about musicals is the actual musical numbers. Pretty Woman the Musical has some of the most talented singers I’ve seen in a long time. The musical selections sampled all kinds of genre including Opera which was the most impressive. Singer, Amma Osei was standing ovation worthy for her performance. Her performance sent chills up my body. If you love amazing chops along with worldwide acclimated acting, Pretty Woman The Musical is a must see.

Olivia Valli

She is stunningly beautiful and well articulated for the role of Vivian. When you think of Vivian you need someone who is street smarts but also still very vulnerable and Olivia encompasses the role magically. Her vocals are out of this world too. I was blown away with her range. She is absolutely perfect. Her ability to use emotion in this role was shown with grace and ease.

Adam Pascal

Known for his roles in Rent and School of Rock, Adam is very considerably a vet. However he showed so much range in his role as Edward.  I was impressed by his singing. He definitely wowed the crowd. His acting is superb as well. He played Edward well bringing in a rawness that even Richard Gere would have been proud of while keeping his own flare to the role.

I have to say the entire cast is full of talent. One of those that really showcased his complete vocal control, flare, and blossoming personality is Kyle Parker. From the first scene to the last he was mesmerizing. His role was Happy Man and every scene he switched in with such ease. Once you see him in action its hard to not know who he is. He grabs the audience’s attention and he doesn’t let go until you leave. Jessica Crouch is Kit and her vocals are something you have to hear at the same time something you have never heard. As soon as she started singing I had to contain my excitement. I found myself at the edge of my seat. Her range is outstanding.

You can expect the story of Pretty Woman to be inviting. It is for an older crowd so I would personally caution it for those under the age of 16. It is stunningly performed. The Kimmel Center is known for out of this world shows and you can add Pretty Woman the Musical as a show stopper of its own. Unfortunately the show will come to an end on Sunday January 16th. Make sure you grab your tickets and enjoy it. There are also availability to purchase at the concession stand. There is a brief intermission and the whole production is about 2 hours long. The time flies so fast that you don’t recognize it.
