Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday. I hope your week has been pretty manageable. It’s been a pretty busy week if I must say so myself. From a media event as well as getting my children through the last days of school, life has been all over the place. So cheers to the weekend and let’s get to it.

Bagels and More Bagels

I attended the grand opening of Bagels and Co. It was absolutely amazing. I love how more events are coming back to Philadelphia. Bagels and Co. have the most amazing varieties of bagels and cream cheeses. I went a little ham on trying every flavor they had. I wanted to be able to be well versed on what to order. They have cream cheese for everyone including vegans. Also you have to try their Red Bull Cool. I mixed it with Passion Fruit juice and my goodness it was delicious.

Also I appreciated the mimosas that were waiting for us as well. It was like a morning party as the DJ was jamming hard. So thank you to Bagels and Co. and Aversa PR for the invite. If you haven’t checked out my Reel, do so. Bagels and Co. is located at 1002 N. 2nd street directly across from Starbucks and Giants Heirloom. Its a great grab and go or even a little chill out spot too. The staff were so accommodating. I took home some bagels and cream cheese only for my children to devour them quickly. So its safe to say I will most definitely be back.

Philadelphia Is Open

Speaking of events coming back, today Philadelphia is no longer closed. Everything is open and no masks are required outside or inside. Its a game changer for Philadelphia businesses in large. It will I hope help many of the businesses that struggled to recover further. Not all companies received a loan at all. I know some for sure that survived barely. Be careful as you go out now that the requirement isn’t being reinforced. The pandemic is not over yet. Do what is best for you and your family. Being safe is always better than getting back to whatever normalcy will occur. What is normal these days anyway? So happy opening to Philadelphia!!

Self Care This Week

This week I did a LOT of journaling. This week was more focused on the children getting through school so you can imagine what type of week I had. Outside of my normal hair appointment and nail appointment I spent a little bit of time taking care of my skin, listening to music as well as podcasts. Also I’ve been into taking breaks. My Apple Watch has these self guided meditation moments that come up periodically and I love them!

I’ve really been listening this week. The list is rather long. All of them I am attaching to Goodpods. Good pods is the Instagram of Podcasts. FYI if you’re noticing your battery draining when you listen to podcasts on other platforms, its way less on their app. I say that not because I am an Influencer for them and verified podcaster, but as a listener.

Here are the podcasts that I listened to this week:

Demetria L. Lucas; Ratchet and Respectable episode Allegedly

Deadass Podcast, episode; Manifesting Greatness

7 Good Minutes; 8 types of People you Should Avoid

The Suga; Somebody’s Daughter with Ashley C. Ford

7 Good Minutes; The Amazing Benefits of Positive Mental

Conversations with Toi

Today’s episode; Mustard Seed and Humility is out now. If you ever felt like at times you have lost your purpose or drive and need some motivation this is your episode. Recording this episode was nothing but pure joy. I felt renewed-so give it a listen.

It features Noel of Paris Fit Studios. Noel Davis is an Archaeologist turned personal trainer and is now a gym owner.
