Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Skin is in. When your skin needs some TLC add Body +Beauty Lab to your list of go tos. I had the Deluxe Hydrafacial and I was impressed. My skin is acne prone and tends to be on the oily side. A hydrafacial works wonders for me. So how did I like this treatment with Body + Beauty Lab? Would I go back?

Skin on the Right Track

It’s important especially as we get older to take care of our skin. Often times we tend to think that our skincare regiment doesn’t need to be refreshed. That couldn’t be more further from the truth.

I must be intentional of what I put on my face. Having the right combination not only helps me to keep my acne at bay but it helps to balance my skin out. These last few years taking my skincare to the next level has been helpful. When choosing an  esthetician, it is important for them to listen to your needs. In addition,  they are not magicians. So, following their suggestions will help you both form a bond that helps your skin in the long run.

The Care at Body + Beauty Lab

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted even before they knew who I was. I am a stickler on customer service. Customer service is just as important if not more important than the service. I had my oldest daughter with me which normally I wouldn’t advise people bringing kids to an appointment. However, she also doubles as my videographer of which I happily pay her. They treated her as if she was going to be serviced too. So much so she raved about them as we left. That speaks wonders to me. Customer service gets an A+.

Deluxe HydraFacial

This by far exceeds any service you have seen me have and let me tell you. This isn’t my first time having a HydraFacial. Every facial is different. This time instead of adding any booster to my skin session she added an extra salicylic acid to help kill the bacteria that causes acne. Now I am not going to lie it did allow me to initially flare up. That is a good thing. It means the facial especially for acne prone skin is doing its job. All those impurities that were laying dormant under the skin have been pulled. It took about a good 48 hours after for my skin to calm down.

The entire HydraFacial was tailored to my unique needs. It wasn’t a one size all. I appreciated that my esthetician, Jennifer walked me through and allowed me to make decisions on my skin.

Dermaplaning Add-On

I can’t say enough that I highly suggest that you add Dermaplaning. It is an amazing part of the facial. Getting rid of the old dead skin as well as any facial hair that you do not want.  I loved it. It was my first time but not my last. Many people do it on their own. The way my hand is set up, I will cut something off my face so its best for me to leave it to the professionals. It doesn’t hurt at all. If you have the right person, you shouldn’t feel anything whatsoever. My HydraFacial also included a LED session where I turned like Violet the Blueberry. I really enjoyed that. Either way I left there glowing, and my pores completely cleaned out.

Here are some things I do before and after a facial of any kind:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Green tea after
  • Clean your make up brushes (do this regularly)
  • No make up for 24 hours following
  • Use a acne patch on any flare ups

I would highly recommend going to Body + Beauty Lab. The service is outstanding, the services were exemplary, and I was treated well. Please add them to your list and add them to your gifting list. Gift card for services make an amazing gift especially for people who have enough “things.” Gift them an experience and this is one to have.
