Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Robert Irvine

Happy Friday. Today is the beginning of the month. July is here. So not only are we in a new day but a new month so we can start new goals as we enter a new quarter. With that being said, I hope that July is all that you need it to be and more. So what’s the Friday scoop?

Yolanda Adams and Gospel on Independence

I started off my week this week in complete inspiration. How? The Gospel on Independence with Visit Philly and The Kimmel Cultural Campus. The show had all of the things that I love, choirs, music, and soul. I loved every bit of what we were able to experience. During the VIP reception there was so much good food, drinks, and just a great spirit of hospitality. It was an honor to experience it. Thank you to Visit Philly, Kimmel, and Kory Aversa for the invitation.

Kimmel Center And Welcome America with Wawa Arts Fest

Last Friday I attended the Arts Fest and it was an amazing time for the whole family. There were opportunities to enjoy great food, drinks, art, and more. My kids especially loved the ability to learn a new routine with the cast of Lion King. It was great exposing them to the Arts. I am a firm believer that exposing children to the Arts is a wonderful way to enlighten their minds. They really enjoyed walking in the streets, sliding the big slide, and the freeness of simply being kids without stress. I enjoyed getting them back outside safely as well. If you were able to attend last Friday I hope that you found the experience enjoyable.

Last Weekend Vibes

In addition to being at the Kimmel Center, it was a non stop weekend of events. On last Friday we went to Cirque du Soleil. They were in town just for the weekend. The show was phenomenal. All of the artistry it takes to pull off a show of that magnitude was absolutely jarring. The next day we went to Circus Vazquez. It was so good to be at the circus again. They are in town until July 10th. So make your way to the show as you don’t want it to pass you by.

Minions: The Rise of Gru Friday Release

Today the anticipated movie of the Summer is out, Minions: Rise of Gru. Take a trip down memory lane to see how Gru got his evil start. I took the kids in collaboration with Illumination to see it on Monday. It was hands down as good as I wanted it to be. Without giving any of the movie away, you will laugh tremendously. It is family friendly and definitely worth a theatre trip. Thank you to Illumination for having us, sending us goodies, and for the hospitality. Minions: Rise of Gru is in theaters today and I can’t wait for you and your family to see it too.

French Toast Bites Gelato Friday Release

Since it is Friday, French Toast Bites Gelato is out today. What started as an endeavor to highlight French Toast Btes a few years at the Christmas has turned into a blossoming business with no signs of stopping soon. French Toast Bites is now in a home seasoning, cold brew, beer, and as of today a gelato. Get your French Toast Bites gelato in collaboration with Cloud Cups at Spruce Street Harbor Park.

Meet and Greet with Robert Irvine

A celebrity chef, Robert Irvine is a household name thanks to the Food Network. His eye and flare for all things food makes him one of the most sought out Chefs of our time. Now he has set his sights on the alcohol industry by releasing his new vodka and gin line,  Irvine’s Spirits, with local Boardroom Distillery. I was not only able to try several cocktails made with the alcohol but meet him as well. The private event held in conjunction with The Deck at the Moshulu with Fearless Restaurants was a hit.

So many of his fans were waiting to speak to him. He was gracious to every last one of them. He really is amazing in person as one would hope him to be. I enjoyed him and welcome his amazing alcohol with open arms. Boardroom Spirits was my go to during the height of the pandemic with their home delivery. They have been my go to for holidays especially Father’s Day.

So many will be enjoying your weekend. As much as that may mean an increase in alcohol intake, do NOT drink and drive. Please use ride share, a designated driver, and whatever else you may need to ensure a safe ride home. Please be careful and drink responsibly. Happy July. I will be updating my blog this weekend and releasing a lot of the July dates, and evens to keep in mind. Thank you as always for your continued support.
