SleepPhones for sleep

As we start a new month it’s also sleep awareness month. Often times we aren’t getting enough sleep. We know that we need it but often times things like busy schedules, work life balance and more stop us from tapping into the rest that we need.

Sleep Awareness Month

Being aware of your sleep starts with knowing how to get restful rest. For instance I challenged many of you to set a sleep schedule. I too will be getting back on track. How does one get on track with a sleep schedule? Set a time and stick to it. Start your night routine in enough time that you can go to sleep. Here are some other tips:

  • Keep your room cool and dark
  • Use a sound machine to insert white noise-it’s not just for babies
  • SleepPhones are great too-non slip and great to use with your phone
  • Keep phone away from bed so you’re not late night scrolling
  • Get some movement during the day

Why SleepPhones for Good Sleep

Even though you have your phone away from your bed you can still set your music, sleeping playlist or even white noise to it. Having SleepPhones on ensures unlike most headphones that stick in your ear-won’t slip. The way that it sits on your head is more secure. It’s soft but durable and able to be used even when working out. It connects securely to your bluetooth on the device that you are using. Not to mention there’s no shame in needing white noise. Or if you live with someone who snores it will help you to block out their noise and get rest.

Sleep for Wellness

If you are about your health and wellness sleep has to be a major part. For instance, losing weight-your body needs rest. Adding in rest helps with that. Also, your concentration will be better. Just like kids in school, adults need rest. Going to work and in your day sleepy and having issues doing your job is never a good thing. You are also able to digest your food a lot better. If you deal with anxiety or depression lack of rest increases your symptoms. On days when my anxiety is at its highest and I have lack of sleep I find that I struggle the most.

What’s your Plan?

So if any of this sounds like you getting a sleep plan is vital. Make a plan for the sleep you want. For instance when I am not at a late night event I try to go to bed by 9:30pm if not before that. Doing things like if I feel tired to start my night routine right away. I often will go to bed at the same time as the kids. Productivity is an issue when you don’t get enough rest. I have told myself that I need to work late due to not being able to sleep. The real is that although there is always work to do, weighing out productivity vs sleep is real. I try my best to choose sleep. If you are also like me who finds themselves falling asleep on the couch try to eliminate that. Sleeping on the couch may temporarily feel great but often times comes with lack of good sleep or back issues. Your bed is the best place to sleep.
