toitime at Figo

Last night I attended the Media Party for Figo Italian located in Northern Liberties. Figo had such great food and drinks.  Figo Italian will open this Friday, October 15th. From the service, ambiance, and vibes, here’s the review.

Figo Vibes

The location is on North 2nd street. Its absolutely stunning on the inside. There is inside and outside dining. Also the bar is stunning and a great place to watch sports. The vibes are definitely conducive to a date night. The lighting especially outside will be an amazing back drop to creating a romantic mood and create memories. Also if you are gathering together with friends or family this will be your go to spot. As much as its a great spot for date nights, celebrations, it’s also family friendly as well. So there is a kid menu as well. I checked it and I think its kid approved.

Service

I always judge the Media events a little more harsher. The staff is fully aware that media is going to write a review. I place myself in the eyes of what it would be like if I attend outside of a media mindset. One thing I enjoyed was our waitress. She was hands down amazing. I love when staff knows the menu. The menu at Figo is extensive. From pastas, dinner dishes, pizza, and appetizers there are a lot of options to choose from. Our waitress was well versed.  I wanted to get an ideal about ordering things from all aspects of the menu and having a well versed wait staff is important. Also being greeted with kindness from all staff regardless of who they are or if they are serving you or not, Figo did amazing with that.

Drinks

Let’s start out with drinks since when you are in a restaurant that is how service starts. Figo has about 13-14 libations. I personally had the Sophia. Its made with Epsolon Blanco, lavender-peach shrub and lemon.  It was absolutely a cute drink in addition to being light and not overly sweet at all.

Wine Flights

If you love wine I would highly suggest that you try a wine flight. A wine flight will give you several wines to taste or enjoy with a 2.5 oz. pour. I finally was able to try Mary J. Blige’s newest wine collection, Sun Goddess. It was very refreshing which will now encourage me to buy a bottle. This is a great way to experience a new wine you might not have had otherwise. Figo’s wine flight is too cute not to order. You get 4 wines that you select. So definitely enjoy.

Champagne to Start our Night

Figo definitely made us feel like superstars with the red carpet welcome and champagne upon arrival. It was absolutely too cute. I loved how they thought of everything to make everyone get back into the swing of media events.

Appetizers

Nothing is better than having an appetizer. I try to have one every time I go out unless I am not as hungry. I am very harsh on appetizers because I know that some people may only go to a restaurant for light bites and drinks. Figo has 12 options for appetizers. In addition they do have some salads that some could eat in place of the appetizer or make it a meal.

Shrimp scampi was super hot. It was absolutely delicious. When I say hot, I mean actually sizzling hot. I was happy about that. Do you know how many times a dish sits and waits before it comes to the customer and then once its received, its lukewarm? I prefer it to be hot and I am waiting for it to cool down. It’s also served with garlic bread.

Ricotta Brushchetta

I didn’t personally eat this but I wanted to share this. This was from Kory Aversa of Aversa PR.

Cheese Board

If you love a cheese board, you will love Figo. An assortment of cheese, and spreads this cheese board is plenty to be a shareable appetizer. This would be great to order for a get together as well or a date night share.

Angel Hair Pomodoro

I love pasta. As a vegan I love vegan friendly pasta. Figo has an amazing Angel Hair Pomodoro. Its full of flavor. If you love pastas, Figo has 7 options. Don’t forget they also have pizzas, steaks, chicken, and fish as well. There is something for the pickest of eaters.

Affogato

Have you ever had it? It’s vanilla ice-cream with good warm espresso shot or coffee over. Figo served theirs with an espresso shot and I hadn’t had affogato in a long time and it was definitely delicious. They also have a cannoli as well as a Tiramisu.

Figo is definitely the new kid on the block but I see longevity and great memories being made. Figo is located 1033 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia PA 19123. They open this Friday, October 15th. I would suggest that you make a reservation. Figo is owned by Glu Hospitality. You can read on the blog on their other eatery( they have more FYI) at Set No Libs.
