Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. Today is Christmas Eve. Are you all okay? I hope that today is less about last minute shopping but about making some wonderful memories. We will be baking cookies with the kids, and watching all of the Christmas movies. I only have one gift to wrap and I am all done.

Christmas Traditions

My family enjoy waking up and opening up presents. We also talk about how blessed we are and how we can find ways to do for others. I am blessed to have really great children. So honored to be their Mom. We also have our traditional Christmas breakfast before we head to my hometown of Lancaster. Last year we were unable due to Covid-19. This year every person in my home has been vaccinated or boosted as well as tested. Our extended family is also vaccinated. We will not be going to any other homes but my Mother’s.

Once back at home we will be relaxing and letting the kids enjoy the night. Also we enjoy retiring Larry our Elf on the shelf and setting out cookies for Santa. My older two children are more than aware that Santa isn’t real. We still love the spirit of the holidays. We are definitely more relaxed than other year. That has a lot to do with doing things a little smarter. Not allowing too much stress to intervene.

Media Events Friday Edition

Media events have concluded for the season. I will be back at it at the top of 2022. Do not worry there are plenty of rest that I look forward to in the next 2 weeks. I do have a few things that I will be attending during the Christmas break but not as extensive as it has been. Be on the lookout for Play reviews and fun in the coming weeks until we gear back up. To be honest, a lot of places are voluntarily closing with the new variant.

We have been vigilant to stay tested and safe. So if you have seen me at events with my masks a little more snug that is why. This variant is not a game. I will have a blog either over the weekend or the top of the week next week telling you of all of the family oriented events you can attend while you may be off.

Holiday Brunch

My friend Kyla and I used to do monthly dates. We are slowly getting back now that we are both vaccinated and boosted. We always do a holiday brunch. This year we went to the Blue Elephant Bar. They have an amazing buffet style brunch. Its absolutely stunning inside of their location. In addition to it being beautiful, the food and drinks are good.

Brunch at the Blue Elephant Bar

The price is $27 per adult and $14 per child ages 10 and under.  It also includes one complimentary mimosa per appropriate age adult. The arrayment of food has something for everyone. If you are a sushi lover you will love it as well. Their sushi is fresh and there is a great selection. The bar is also open too. We had the Blue Elephant and Mind your Mango. There is parking available on site as well or street parking adjacent to the location. Staff was very nice and helpful.  We also exchanged gifts and we try to put some thought into the items.

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

Yes we have a new episode today. As I took that break later in October to be able to support those who need it during the holidays. We talk today about holiday problems and issues of my own personal past. Some if not all of it is based on personal experience. The struggle around Christmas with family, friends, new loves, relationships and grief are all real. So make sure you tune into the episode and enjoy. As always they are available on all podcast platforms.

I do a Christmas Message every year and tomorrow will be no different. I hope that your holiday will be all that it can possibly be. Make sure that you enjoy it. Next week we are getting ready for the New Year. Pay attention to the Facebook and Instagram pages. I will have it updated. I also will update the website as I do for every new month. Thank you to all of you that help make this community as best as it can be.

The Matrix Resurrections Friday Movie Happenings

The new Matrix movie is out. It came out out on December 22, 2021. The Matrix Resurrections is a continuation of the story established in the first MATRIX film that reunites Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss as cinematic icons Neo & Trinity in an unexpected expansion of their story that ventures back into the Matrix and even deeper into the rabbit hole. A mind-bending new adventure with action and epic scale, it’s set in a familiar yet even more provocative world where reality is more subjective than ever – where all that’s required to see the truth is to free your mind.

Matrix Movie

I attended the Pop Up event and it was so much fun. It was at a Black owned coffee and comic book shop called Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse. I am a Warner Brothers partner and to say how impressed I was is an understatement. So make sure you get you tickets on Fandango and enjoy it.  You can also see the Reel recap of the event.

Happy Friday, cheers to the weekend and your Christmas!
