Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday to my amazing community! I hope you’re just as happy for Friday as I! This has been a long week to say the least! Let’s get into the highs and lows.

Valentine’s Day

So love week last week was amazing. From surprising my children with treats to showing extra love to my husband it was a good week. We enjoyed a low key weekend. No frills necessary. As I went all out to make sure the children enjoyed their day, my husband made sure to do one extra special gift for me. He had Jaleel White send me a special video through Cameo! The video had me in complete tears. You may remember Jaleel as the Steve Urkel (Stephan Urkell) on Family Matters. My whole childhood crush. I’m still gushing over the special video!

Meetings Thank Goodness its Friday

In this arena meetings are necessary. I have been on all kinds of Zoom, Google Meets, etc. I saw my schedule unfolding. After the 4 meetings I originally scheduled, 5 more ended up on my plate too! So with today being Friday I was okay when one needed to be rescheduled. Now outside of those meetings I still enjoy Lunch Club. I only do 2 meetings a week in addition to the meetings with brands. Lunch Club is a way to network with like minded people in order to discover new projects, angel funding, etc. Use my link and get started. If you are a business of any kind or size whether small or not it’s super beneficial.

2 Shoe Crew Friday Relief

I’m back…well in a full pair of shoes. I was in a boot for about 3-4 weeks! It was painful but necessary because I am an avid long distance runner. I want to do whatever I can to establish longevity in how I take care of my body. So although I’ll have to go to physical therapy and now I have show insoles at least I’m on the road to recovery!

Podcast Friday Drop

So we had two episodes this week. Who am I? I rarely do 2 recordings in a week but here we are. The bonus episode was with Ms. Katrina Hall who is Phoenix Theatre‘s Virtual Artist in Residency. Her adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Winter Tale is playing this weekend. For tickets get them here! To listen to the podcast go here! We talk about it all. It’s a powerful discussion!

For this week’s podcast we talk about motherhood and egos listen here! This may be triggering if you are dealing with trauma about the relationship with your mother. We don’t go in as deep but I still want it to be clear we talk about trauma with motherhood and healing through it!

Birthday Celebration

I also celebrated my youngest daughter’s birthday! I updated the blog I wrote on my birth experience. This is about the lack of care with Black mothers in health care as well! So many die in childbirth. Had I not had a friend who was a doctor give my husband the exact words to say to communicate to my doctor I wouldn’t even be here! Also shout out to my blood donor! He truly was a lifesaver. He drove hours to donate the blood I needed. I honored for that gesture of love and care!

Social Media

I would also encourage you to follow me on social media! I update the pages just about daily. From news we need to Philly Happenings-it’s mostly up to date on Facebook! My Instagram is where you can find some resources in my stories or branded content or even just reminders of approaching all facets of life. Some are fun like reminding you of National Drink Wine day to serious topics too! I am also on Pinterest. If you’re there follow I’ll follow back!
