Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Wednesday

Happy Wednesday. I am officially back from my Vegas Baecation. We had an amazing time celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Our actual anniversary is next week but Usher is in residency so we made sure to stop by his concert too. I will be as always breaking down the content. In the meantime follow on Instagram and Tik Tok for videos. I hope your week is going well. Here are some things to keep in mind for our check in.

End of Month Wednesday Wisdom

It’s hard to believe that another month has passed but it has. July is leaving and we are starting the back to school and Fall shift. Still enjoy your Summer. Plan a staycation or some amazing day trips. Do not let the Summer past without having the blast that you desire. Trust me I know that at times money can be tight but there’s always a work around. For instance, if there’s somewhere locally or semi locally that you want to be instead of staying for days at a time, go less days. This is a way to get in some time where you want to be. Plan ahead for trips. For our family we plan months if not more than a year in advanced. This ensures we can set a boundary on spending according to what we want to do.

Wednesday blog

For instance with Vegas it was for our 10th wedding anniversary so our budget was a little higher than a regular baecation. We didn’t want to limit ourselves on eating, drinking, or activities. The first of the blogs will come out tomorrow and we definitely had a blast and a half.

Self Care for the Week

This week my self care has been family time. Normally that isn’t the case. But self care can include others. I wanted a dose of family time and I am getting it. Watching the kids enjoy their time has been everything. In the midst of that family time stealing away to enjoy my favorite beverage or simply just taking a nap has been my go to. Find something that works for you and fills your cup. There is nothing wrong in having that for yourself. Do not anyone tell you that self care is selfish. My life has changed in greater ways of managing my emotions and being honest with myself by stating when I need something and taking the time to get it. I can come back to my responsibilities by being honest with myself.

Wednesday Reality

I had to have a reality check with myself today. Today telling a few companies that either we find an appropriate work day for post and work or I would have to decline was real. This means being honest with myself about my real expectations.  I can’t do it all and neither can you. No is a full sentence. Being okay to say NO is growth. Everyone is pulling at this time. This is 3rd quarter energy. My time gets pulled from here on out because the holiday rush is near. If there is someone or something wanting more of your time or energy than you can provide, be honest. Note, anything that takes resources from you that can’t be replenished is a hard NO. Too many times, people do the most and take leaving you with the deficit.  Be honest with yourself. Say NO. Be vigilant on takers. It is hard at times I get it. However, taking care of you is the prime way of adulting.

Wednesday

So as we truck along and are checking in please check in with self. What has worked this week? Do more of it. what hasn’t worked this week? Simply eliminate or find a better way. Wednesday means we are in the middle of the week. Celebrate it. You are halfway there to the traditional work week. If you drink wine, go ahead and place a bottle in the fridge for Wine Down Wednesday. Happy Wednesday! Let’s crush the week.
