Good Monday morning to you. I hope you had an amazing weekend this past weekend. I know Mondays can seem so hard to accept after such a good weekend at times but they are necessary.  What are your plans for this week? Did you write out your goals this week? I know these are a lot of questions to start your day, but Monday is a reset day.

This past week has been the most challenging for my family and I. We experienced a flood that was super damaging to our home. It was scary and I am glad that we got through it. Nothing like starting the day having to save your cars and getting separated from your family. I will go more in depth as we start the extensive clean up in another blog later this week. However with that, it taught me that staying calm and realizing how resilient I am is key. Some of the worse things that we have gone through teaches us the biggest lessons that we need to make us stronger. I know or at least I will say for myself, that I often hope when tough times that I could bypass the pain of the lesson, we all know that’s not how it works.  We learn and we grow. We learn through pain and being uncomfortable.

I wanted to wake up  and shift the morning. Instead of working from a place of irritation I wanted to start and remember the resilience that we operate from daily. We spend a lot downing ourselves, but we really push through. If you woke up this morning even with the cares of life on you heart, but you are determined to have the best day ever, that’s resilience. If you wanted to respond negatively but you don’t its most likely because you are operating out of resilience.  You know that an negative demeanor, attitude, or outlook won’t yield, the result you seek.

So you may be thinking, Toi, your blogs are usually so positive so it’s easy to walk in resilience and move past things easily. Its not always the case for me. I am just aware all the time of myself. I work through things ALL the time. I walk and work on me constantly. Its not that life doesn’t give me hard times. It’s not that I don’t get down, depressed, angry,  or upset. I am human just like you.

Here is a little checklist of what to do to get you back into a flow for a productive Monday:

  • Make a list of the things you have to do and put the things that hold the most weight on top
  • Take a moment to be grateful
  • If you have a favorite beverage like coffee or tea, get some and drink it
  • Remember what you can’t do grace is there to help you with the rest
  • Make another list if you are feeling overwhelmed about your purpose and write down what you would like to see happen in life
  • Take that same above list, what’s one thing on that list, can you do TODAY
  • Do you need a little exercise or movement? Move a little where you are
  • Did you journal your thoughts today? Get it out on paper
now or never quote

Monday can be as productive as you want it to be. Your Monday can always be reset if it starts out bumpy. Even if you are working at home, I have had moments where I woke up late, couldn’t find anything, and all of the electronics have decided to go left. I have been angry, and hollering about it and caught myself and had to reset it. happy coffee

Today remember the hardest thing you have been through, you got through it and you are resilient. You have what it takes to be better and walk in better. You got this. Now go take your Monday!
