Seasonal Depression

If you deal with Seasonal Depression you know there are many ways of working through it. Opening your blinds, getting outside for fresh air (yes even in the cold), or staying active. When warmer weather breaks it makes being “seen” a little easier. Even if you haven’t dealt with seasonal depression today’s motivation is about seeing yourself.

What is being seen?

In the context of seasonal depression, being seen is finally feeling a sense of release. The process of coming out of your shell. Winter months with the dark nights, less sunlight, and cold sometimes stifles you. When the Winter weather breaks you are ready to shed the darkness that can often hang over you. This is why people get new hair cuts, color their hair, brighten their wardrobe etc. It’s about that renewing.

Shedding of Yourself-Seasonal Depression

In a lot of ways we shed during the Spring. We get that glimpse of encouragement. People often get more active. Find activities that press you to be outdoors more. Find a new hobby or even increase meet ups with friends. Another way of shedding is to take a vacation or staycation. Regardless of how you shed, increase your self care. You may have that initial light feeling. Keeping yourself light is to be in tuned to what you need to not allow the overwhelming feeling to take over your thought process.

Monday Renewal

I woke up feeling great. This was a great way to start the busy week. Last week I was dealing with burnout. I wasn’t walking in gratitude. I had allowed my mindset to be taken over. Little ways to reset myself was to take naps, rest, acknowledge where I was, etc. This week I wanted to be intentional about how I took my first steps into my Monday.  So as we start out what were the ways that you start? Did you have a good breakfast, yoga, worked out, took a walk? If your Monday is not starting off stellar, it happens. What will you do to reset?

How are you Setting Up your Monday?

Today and everyday we need to develop a plan. We all know that plans sometimes fail. However we should always have to find ways to re-establish a plan. A plan is a way to know how you want to proceed. When you fail to plan you are planning to fail. Failure has been one of those actions that gets us to our purpose to a certain extent. However, keep in mind that no one wants to wake up and walk in failure’s paths. So set yourself up for success. Today I made sure to get organized and set my schedule. As always I am listening to a podcast. It’s a great way to start the day. Today is an Audible listen. What apps do you use on your phone for self care?

So as we start Monday, are you like many emerging? It’s okay to shed the Seasonal Depressive mood that you may have been under. You are also in control of you.
