Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Good Sunday morning. What a great day to have a great day! We here in the Northeast and beyond had a snow day yesterday. Today as we clean and clear up don’t forget to refresh mentally.

Sunday Preparation

For many today is a day to prep. This may mean meal prep, cleaning the house, or even just ironing clothes. Whatever your preparation for an amazing week is get it done and move with intentions today. For instance how can you make your preparation run smoother? For me I organize what needs to be done and get some help. Everyone in my house is able bodied. Instead of thinking that I alone have to do it all-I delegate. If you live with others make a list, assign, and conquer.

Relaxation

Even with the long list of items that I have to do, I still will incorporate relaxation. This comes in many forms. This could be having quiet time, reading, watching a movie, enjoying an activity, or simply enjoying not having to wake up early. Relaxing is a part of self care. Although people want to exclusively see self care Sundays it’s a daily way of life.

Sunday Mindset Shift

If you haven’t listened to this past podcast episode give it a listen. We talked about the business of being happy. It’s clear we don’t mean smiling and laughing like life isn’t happening. One of the things that I had to learn was to let some things go. I had many opportunities when simply holding on to what others said and felt was holding me back. It’s easier said than done. This is a mental shift. It also takes forgiveness. I used to carry people around in my body, and mind that didn’t even know I still existed. That’s wasted power and energy.

Drop the Charges

Do you know how hard it is to walk around burdened down by people? I have heard so many say that people aren’t a factor. They aren’t when you are in the right mental space. Often times than not, people affect how you feel about things and especially yourself. It’s not enough to say the words that people don’t matter when you’re deeply moved, hurt, or bruised by the actions of others. It took years of therapy for me to be able to say that.

Week Goals

What are your goals for this upcoming week? Whatever they are write them down. I write weekly and monthly goals down religiously. It helps to see what I need to do in order to make it happen. For instance if my schedule has things on it that I know I need to organize things a little better that’s what I’m going to do. You may need to see your goals so you can be clear on the road to completing it.

Happy Sunday! Enjoy it! Today is also National Croissant Day! So if you’re able to enjoy one!
