Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Sunday. Today is World Kindness day! A day to take out the time to showcase kindness to others. It’s easy to show love and kindness to people you love who also aren’t getting on your nerves. However when you have or need to show that love to strangers or those who you love who get under your skin that is the best showcase of kindness in real form.

Acts of Kindness

There are a million and one ways to show kindness. Opening and holding the door for others is one way. Paying for someone’s food or drink order in line is another. The last couple of years we have seen where people have done this, recorded it and more. How about those hard times? The times when you really want to be ignorant to well deserving people? You know the ones who actually have earned to have meanness reciprocated back. Can you be kind? If you’re in a committed relationship and your loved one is having a petty moment. Can you release the desire to be petty and show up in the way you want it to be given to you?!

Sunday Joys

I have to admit today was a struggle. The ones in my home got deep under my skin today. One person in my home broke a gift given from my best friend all the way from Italy. It can’t be replaced. Another person in my home lost my wireless headphones. Took it off the charger to use then without permission and then lost them. It would be easier for me to be kind on high days.

The days when the kids listen and the husband and I are on one accord. However the days where like today I have to practice being in a state of kindness is the real test. It doesn’t mean I can’t be upset about the broken gift or the stolen headpieces, but I don’t have to be mean spirited to get my point of being disappointed across.

Being Kind when no one is Watching

I love seeing the open displays of kindness. The feel good moments captured on phones to showcase kindness in real time. However in addition to capturing kindness showcase it even when no one is watching. It means being kind when it doesn’t benefit you. Today on one way walking into our son’s basketball game, there was a board on the ground. My husband moved it. Little did he know the person in the car who wouldn’t have been able to pass through was my son’s coach. He didn’t move it to impress the coach. The coach just so happened to benefit from the moving of the board.

Sunday Kindness Reminder

On these holidays or days of reminders the amount of people that are more upset about who could have made such a day increases. Instead of being upset about the made up days use them as a reminder of goodness that the world is in need of. The first thing I hear is “do we really need a day of kindness?!” Have you seen the news? Checked social media? We could use any extra dose of reminders to be kind. Being kind, extending grace, or showing love isn’t problematic.

Remembering that we all need a dose of kindness is necessary. So please not only show it to strangers but show that to the ones you live with. You shouldn’t treat others better outside of your home than you do inside of it. Your family should crave to have that the same grace that they watch you show to others. Kindness is a way of life!

As we prepare for our week, make sure to be intentional with your time. Prepare for your week by preparing your mindset. Write down your weekly goals. If you didn’t do a great job at your morning routine, make your night time one exceptional. Maybe you need to meal prep to make your week run smoothly-do so! If you know ironing your clothes, making your breakfasts ahead of time or simply adding a few self care moves into your week is what you need-do it. Have a great start of your week! Happy Sunday and blessings to your week full of kindness, integrity, and hard work!
