Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Sunday! As we continue to prepare for our week, let’s rest. That sounds like a complete opposite but its not. So how can we increase restful moments into our week?

Sunday Rest

Start Sunday with Rest

I know the desire to stay up late watching television and more is real. Set a firm sleep time tonight. Make a hard stop on any and all projects and more. Stick to it. We wake up on Mondays so grumpy and with low energy but it’s lack of dedication to what we need. This is what wellness looks like. Taking charge of our needs. You need rest. It’s not just about sleep. It’s a wind down process. The night time routine is important. Take charge of you and wind down at an appropriate time.

Be Proactive with your Schedule: Sunday Reminder

If you’re not into meal prepping for a whole week that’s fine. Set your meals, fix your water in reusable containers, or set your clothes out the night before. You can incorporate it into your night time routine. It’s important to maximize your time. This is a great way to increase rest. You can get the full amount of sleep at night, wake up rested, and start of prepared. Let me say life happens but when all 3 of them combine it’s the best feeling.

Sunday Joys

Sunday Scaries comes in when we tend to be sad about the weekend ending instead of recognizing that you were blessed to have a full weekend. It’s a matter of perspective. Change your mindset and the things you say. No more I wish the weekend didn’t have to end and change it to I’m grateful for the best weekend and move forward. What were your joys of today? The weekend? I write in my journal often of daily joys so make your Sunday joys clear.

Week Ahead Mapping

So what are your goals for the week? Have you taken the time to write out the things that need your attention? Lists don’t have to be a bad thing. You can make them in many ways. One way is to use your phone and erase once completed. Another way to is use an app that helps organize your ideas. I still like the old school way which is to create a list and cross things off. With the use of my White Board in my room because it helps me to focus on tasks ahead of the day as I wake up. I also use my planner or a notepad. I used to use sticky notes but we all know they are thrown away.

Sunday Activities

As we prepare for a great week what are some activities you can do to wind down your weekend? Here are some examples:

  • Bubble bath
  • Journal writing
  • Enjoy a favorite cup of tea before bed
  • Read a book
  • Set a family movie night in the evening
  • Do a craft
  • Go for a night walk
  • Listen to a podcast

So again we are in charge of our time and we must make good use of it. Don’t let the Sunday Scaries take over you this evening. Be vigilant on what you need to do to start a successful week. What am I doing? Ending the day with laundry and setting a schedule of blogs and content for you all. I’ll be back (Lord’s Will) with Monday Motivation. Have an amazing Sunday evening! Make it amazing!
