Happy Earth Day. This is something we should celebrate not just today but also in how we live our lives daily. So if you haven’t given much thought for how you plan to help in the conservation of the Earth-do better. I will share at least one place in Philadelphia that is doing its part to eliminate waste. In addition this was a heavy media week so there are a lot of things to be on the look out for.
Friday Movie Release: The Bad Guys
The Bad Guys are out. A group of thieves have made a lifetime career of stealing. But when an opportunity for them to be good comes along it’s hard for them to resist. If you have read the book or not this movie is easily one of the top movies of the year. It’s a ball of fun for the whole family. My family and I went to see a special screening last week and let’s just say, it was a blast and a half for sure. So grab your tribe and go so whether or not this group of thieves can turn over a new leaf.
Easter Blessings
I hope you had a great Easter. We relaxed in full pajamas. I planned it that way and it went off without an issue. I love when my family and I can simply enjoy our time without interruptions. You can catch up with what I had going on and the new breaks I am implementing immediately into my schedule. In the Wednesday recap I give the details and the why.
The Rabbit is Opening Next Friday April 29, 2022
I had the opportunity to be able take in the essence of this Speakeasy vibe. The drink were flowing. The average price for each drink is about $15 dollars. They are worth it. Sometimes bars have drinks that don’t match the vibes or add up to what it needs to, but these definitely do. I loved every bit of it.
The red lights add a great level to it. The Rabbit is located at the Wine Dive. Although the Wine Dive is located above the vibes aren’t the same. You are getting wine cellar and wine vibes upstairs and downstairs you are entering a world of eclectic pieces, and sexy vibes. The Wine Dive is located at 1506 South Street. The Rabbit is underneath.
Wok Works
I visited the Wokworks located in the Shoprite in Roxborough. It is a new venture to get rice and noodle bowls as well as fresh sushi and more. I love the fact that this particular franchise is Black owned by a husband and wife team who also own the location in Cheltenham too. The food was good and they had things for everyone’s palate. I loved that they had vegan options that are delicious. So if you’re looking for reason to try it, today at 11am they are giving away free meals to the first 50 people. Everyone after that will get to spin a wheel for a deal.
Riverbend Environmental Education Center
Come out tomorrow-Saturday April 23rd from 10-12pm and plant a tree for Earth Day (week). It is their newest program available. At the Riverbend EEC you and your child can learn how to make food, preserve the Earth with innovations as well as hike and more. I plan to take my family tomorrow. We love being out in nature. It looks like the weather will be beautiful. So grab some comfortable shoes and clothes and have a great time. Also meet the turtles, frogs, and the Greenhouse. It’s $25 dollars per family so definitely cost effective. Register ahead of time.
Conversations with Toi- Friday Podcast Drop
The podcast is out today. In today’s episode we talk about DJ Envy and his wife Gia. Gia states that she has been faking an orgasm for 10 years. Marriages come with their own level of ups and downs. However the fact that this was going on for 10 years is a lot. So I discuss it. Also as always we talk about self care and saying NO. I never want to end any episode without talking about self care. The drink of the day is an Old Fashioned. You can get that recipe.
I also attended the Positano Coast grand reopening of their newly renovated location. I will do a separate blog. I was hosted by Discover Puerto Rico. It was a whole great event.
