Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. What a week? I attended four media events this week in addition to my kids functions and simply enjoying life. This week has been fun but less tiring for me. I added in some self-care, recorded some podcasts episodes for June. My production has increased, and I am going to share with you why and how you can do the same thing.

Friday Production Encouragement

We always hear about working smarter. I am going to be sharing with you a few things that I do to do just that. Let us start with time management. For instance, it would be east for me to simply work and try to do it all. However, in real life that does not happen. I have been writing down a list of things that need to accomplish and setting a timer for an hour and seeing what I can do within that period. Newsflash I got all the things done. Setting time frames even tiny amounts of time helps you to focus. The focus is what we need.

If you are needing some focus help, I would suggest using the helper that I use called Centered. It helps me to make sure that I cut my phone off as a distraction. You may recognize someone you know! Even with video content that needs to be done I find that I was going on my socials a lot more. With limiting my time, I can get more done. So, as we go into the weekend make a list. Set some time limits. Add in a lot of self-care. Each weekend you should be doing at least one thing that is exclusively for you.

DBG Friday Menu Drop

Today DBG or Drury Beer Garden is revealing their new menu. The burgers are top notch. The appetizers can be eaten on their own especially if you get the Appetizer Board. All the cocktails that I had were outstanding. If you are a baller or shot caller. Try the Gold Standard. This is the holy mecca of burgers. It is a wagyu, comes with caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with Louis Xii, gold leaf, wexford aged Irish cheddar, 1500+mgo manuka honey drizzled over fries served with a 1oz pour of louis xii. All that gloriousness comes at a $700 dollar price.

Vegan Burger

Now most of us are not balling out of control but it does notmean you will be eating like a peasant. From the burgers and entrees, you will enjoy high quality, juicy burgers, and more. We went to the media preview everyone raved at the food. I have been to Drury Beer Garden before, but this new menu is a winner.

Cloud Cups Friday Opening

If you love gelato, you will love Cloud Cups. If you have been following me, you know that Cloud Cups did a collaboration with Lokal Artisan Foods better known as French Toast Bites. They made magic with their French toast bites gelato. It is still being sold at Spruce Street Harbor Park. My kids and I just had some over the weekend. Now comes the first brick and mortar for Cloud Cups. They have new flavors and great customer service.

During the media preview not only did we eat gelato, but we had pizza from My Pizza Brain. Both are Black owned. The place is a walking nostalgia as it is a Pizza Museum filled with all the old pizza memorabilia. They also provided cocktails and beer from Evil Genius Beer Company. The DJ was hitting us with the tunes. I got the frosé and lemon sorbet. My son got the Cloudini. It is gelato that is sandwiched with a donut. The flavor he got was Apple Jacks with real pieces of the cereal in it. My youngest got cookies and cream. My oldest got pina colada. There was nothing but smiles the entire time. Plus, I got to hang with my Foodie Friends.

Conversations with Toi

On the podcast this week we talk about the Tarté debacle that occurred all over TikTok. One thing about it is brands can choose to not be inclusive but to think that you are, and you are not it makes no sense. Tarté brand barely covers a light skinned person of color let alone beyond that. I have been on many brand trips. They are fun. The expectation is that you attend, have a fun time, get goodies and more, and talk about it in some form. All the attendees should be given the same thing. That did not happen for the Tarté brand. So, what can other brands learn from this experience and how can you safeguard yourself should you get an invitation and are not treated fairly.

This weekend I plan to relax and be in mom mode hard. I do have a media event. I have been informing everyone about the Pennswoods Winery Derby in the Vineyard that is happening this weekend. Tickets are still available. Keep in mind that I highly suggest that you add the bottomless mimosas that are served from 10-12 noon. It is a fantastic way to indulge and save money overall. It has always been a lot of fun and I attend many of the events at Pennswoods as well as go outside of a media invitation. Happy Friday and look for content to pop up all over from blogs to video content on my socials. I hope you are following me. Thanks for your support.
