Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Wednesday and cheers to getting to the midweek point. From media events, planning a family vacation, and an upcoming brand trip my time has been spent. With that being said let’s talk about learning to find your own space and way. It takes quite a lot to make your life unfold the way that it does.

Planning for a Vacation and Tips

I do not ever pack for a vacation last minute. My kids are more than old enough to pack for themselves however if we are leaving to go anywhere longer than a weekend’s time, I will pack their items using my master list. The anxiety that I and my kids have will increase if items are missed or not included. So, for the parents and people in general, make sure that you use a master list for each season and plan for a few extra days.

I will pack a few weeks in advanced. Most of the time I am packing brand new clothes depending on the trip. If I am going on a brand related most times, I will have at least one new outfit. With the kids it depends on where we are going. When we went to my hometown, they had a few new pieces only because they needed new clothes in general. If you are packing new clothes, run them through the washing machine and pack them immediately.

The benefit of packing early is your able to make a list of the things that you need and get them. Also always include a few things to make travel easier. These are items you don’t necessarily need but are nice to have. I have included these items in my Amazon List. This is to help you grab a few things whether its for a beach trip, plane ride, and more.

Making Space-Wednesday Encouragement

This past weekend for Mother’s Day I decided to take some time to myself. When asked what plans I had it was shocking that 90% of people were shocked that I took the day solo. Creating space for yourself is self-care. Learning how to do what you need for your mental health is necessary. Apparently too many aren’t sure how to do just that. For one start with what you love. What makes you spark? From there set the tone in your home and with those around you that, you are worthy of your time. Do not let Mom guilt or any guilt for that matter stop you from resetting and filling your cup. Its apparent that you take time and be consistent with it.

So start today, this week, or this month. Add it on your schedule and commit daily to making it work in your favor. You are truly deserving.

Media Events-Wednesday Recap

I attended the unveiling of Realm Jewelry that showcases Jennifer Robinson as the new spokesperson for the brand. It was a great night. If you don’t know much about Jennifer Robinson is a Public Speaker, Media Contributor, Wharton Professor, Business Owner of Purposeful Networking, 2022 Miss Classic Universe and newly author of her upcoming book, Life Day. Talk about being acclaimed yet she is the humblest human you will ever meet. Ashley and I was invited to see some of the new pieces of jewerly and network of course. I had a blast.

Made on America Festival

On this Saturday from 2-6 come to Kensington and have a ball. Shop with local vendors from art to food and bring the crew. There is a VIP ticket option that allows your start time to be 1pm instead of 2. This will be a great way to see some of the vendors that live in Kensington and support small business at the same time. Tickets are available now.

Pennswoods Winery-Wednesday Announcement

If you love wine and the Derby vibe you should be at the Derby at the Vineyard being held by Pennswoods Winery. This event is from 10-5pm. I highly recommend you extending your ticket to include the all you can drink mimosa from 10-12pm. This is in my opinion money saving efforts and a great way to have a blast. I will be there of course on one of the days. You will see races from horse riders of all ages. Plus, it’s a winery there will be plenty of bottles to enjoy. Get your tickets now.

So that is for now. I was at a few more media events but I will include them on the Friday recap. Thank you for all your support. Thursday I will be featuring either the blog on the show that I attended this past Saturday or a Black owned company that has all the sweetness of gelato you need and want. Here are the blogs you may have missed.
