So I love that the way people are opening up their minds and hearts to new things. I have been making sure to start each day with intention. Some people will stop with intention just shy of the New Year. Intention setting and goal setting are extremely important to success in every realm of life.

I believe in having faith and walking in faith. It’s imperative to have a belief system. With being a PK (Preacher’s Kid) I’m fully aware that faith without works is truly dead. We have to be able to work our faith. I find when we hear people say that they are spiritual that we equate that only with people who have decided to “walk away” from church or God. Growing up that was a main place of contention. Those who decided that my specific church no longer suited them there was so much shunning. Being spiritual means knowing that there’s more to life than our physical and exploring it.

Natural Approach
We have a responsibility to be clear about the things and people we bring into our spaces. This means our homes and our heart. For me I’ve done as much as I can to take more of a natural approach to the things I have done and do. Most of that as I get older I realize the chemicals in things and want to become better and how I incorporate them into my life. Also with my children I have found natural approach to medicines has actually given them a long lasting approach to health. We have focused more on wellness than just simple eating or weight goals.
Combining Spiritual and Nature Together
You can know everything that your religious background tells you and still have no way of living a healthy or balanced lifestyle. For instance should you overindulge in food or drink we don’t focus on that but are more adapt at pointing outward instead of inward. I’ve taken the approach of pointing inward before out. How I appear to others matters but also making my own temple (body) what it needs to be. So combining a spiritual approach with how I physically move in this world is important!

A few months ago there was a whole debate if smudging kits or burning sage was considered the Devil amongst Christians. The debate isn’t a new debate. I remember hearing this as a kid. Recently Pastor Jamal Bryant made a big issue because members of his church got it for him as he moved into a new house. Listen I think we all are adults and can make decisions on our own. Smudging Kits or sage won’t just work just because you simply use them. It’s your intention while using it that matters. No different than a vision board.
