Spring

Spring is here. As we prepare for warmer weather and change of scenery, there are some things that we must do all around to get ready. Spring always comes with a sense of renewal. Renewing our atmosphere from the inside out is essentially important.

Spring

Mental Renewal

One of the ways that we can get ready for the Spring is a mental renewal. Some people achieve this by taking a trip or staycation to clear their head. You can also decide to look into therapy if you’re not already. Spring can bring on triggers that lay dormant all Winter long. As you prepare to be more active physically, doing a mental check in is necessary. Sometimes we ignore simple signs. As we ignore these signs we find ourselves in a deeper mental state. There’s nothing wrong with realizing that you need help. The key is to find ways of achieving it.

Spring

From online therapist, to therapist that operate on a sliding scale, find what works for you. Also be clear of a few things to keep in mind:

  • Reason for therapy-there are therapist for every reason
  • Goal for being in therapy
  • Being prepared to do the work that therapy reveals

Physical Renewal

Summer bodies are made in the Winter. We know this however with Seasonal Depression, weather, and other setbacks that occurred, its imperative to increase movement. Find one activity that you are good at. This could be running, skating, swimming, or double Dutch. Commit to doing these activities at least 2-3 times a week. Also look into an activity that you are interested in but have never done. Be creative. One of the ways that physical activity helps your mental is that it’s a push. Push yourself in being vulnerable in this change. Learn a new skill and make new friends.

Change of Scenery-Spring Time

If you have moving on your mind, find a way to make it a reality. What will you have to cut out now in your budget to make it happen? Will you need to switch jobs? There are a lot of companies that don’t require you to live in their location. Since the pandemic we now know that you can work and live anywhere. So open your horizons and take that chance. In addition to a new job or moving, travel. Travel does something to your insides. The ability to take a trip, see other cultures, catch flights and not feelings is a mood booster. You can travel on a budget too. People don’t prepare for travel but you should. In essence you need to take at least 2-3 trips a year.

In addition to travel add some personal solo trips and staycations. This can be elaborate like leaving the culture to taking a car trip to a neighboring state or county. Setting that time to yourself helps build inner passions.

Shake your Friendship Tree-Spring Renewal

This is a crucial time to shake things up a bit. Every friend you have is your friend for a reason. Do not be afraid to branch out. You ever wanted to do a group trip and you have the folks that say yeah but never get a passport or ready to book? Time to add a few travel buddies to the list. Have friends that are adventurous. Also a rule of thumb when traveling with others, be clear on expectations. If you are the type that doesn’t like itineraries do not travel with someone who likes to plan every second of the moment. This is having friends that are equally yoked.

humble

Loyalty in the sense of time is something to evaluate. We can be friends with people because of the length of time we have been in friendship with people. There have been times when longevity doesn’t equate to a loving friendship. You are evolving. As you evolve so does your relationships around you. Never be afraid or feel locked in to people that you aren’t able to communicate your needs and have them honored.

There are a thousand and one ways to focus on the renewal of Spring. It starts from the inside out. Pushing past your excuses and honoring yourself in making yourself a priority will aid in the best renewal that you definitely need. Happy Spring!!
