Friday recap

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. What a week. It has been so uplifting so I want to share with you why. Today is a good day to have a good day. Can you believe that it’s almost the end of the month? Does anyone that this month is going pretty fast? Either way here are the things that has gone down this week.

Sunday Rewind on a Friday

Last Sunday I attended the Jill Scott concert. To say that it was amazing is an understatement. Here are a few things that the venue got right:

  • Processing people into the doors (it as freezing outside)
  • Security (they did such a great job helping the patrons)
  • Drinks (we had the Double Moscato special-felt it was the best for your buck)

Jill Scott is a breath of fresh air. She doesn’t sugar coat a thing in her music. Everything you could expect from her she gave. The concert was a beautiful two hours long. Before she came out, Adam Blackstone as well as Avery Wilson performed. In addition, Philadelphia comedian, Don’t call me White Girl did a set. Of course DJ Diamond Kuts did at least two sets and had us partying from our seats.

Not apart of the show was me seeing David Banner. I love him. Live Nation Urban not only did a great job advertising and putting this together but also with handling of tickets. So my week started off on a great start.

Thank you to Live Nation Urban for hosting me. Make sure you get your tickets to The Roots Picnic. You don’t want to miss it. Thank you to my girl, Akira for going with me. We both needed to let loose and enjoy that special moment.

Blogs you May have Missed

I have been back into my flow. With that being said, today is day 5 of new content. I hope you enjoyed it. Make sure you share it with others:

Six the Musical: A Must See

The Bava

Six the Musical

If you missed the blogpost on it, make sure you read it. Six is absolutely amazing. It was full of woman/girl power. I will be taking my littles to see it. Make your own discretion on seeing it with kids under 12. I think it’s fine as some of the things may go over their heads. Six is here from now until April 9, 2023.

Also the dessert reception at Volvér was amazing. We tried the Queen Sting which is the show’s signature cocktail.

Friday Week in Review

This week has been amazing to me. I have enjoyed how I am feeling lately.  For instance, I have fully balanced on my medication. The arrival of Spring has done wonders on my mental health. These days are a complete turn around from how I was struggling a few weeks ago. This is why I speak up so honestly about my issues. There are many who are like me who suffer in silence. They aren’t able to speak as openly as I have and will continue to do about their battles. If you are feeling less than yourself please know you aren’t alone. Use tools like acupuncture, working out, self care, therapy, and  more to get back on track. Take your mental health seriously.

Spring’s Golden Hour

On Monday when Spring came in I spent an evening at the W Hotel with The Luna Maye. She had us relax, drink low ABV drinks, and we did some meditation. It felt so good. The peace that was in that room was amazing. There were quite a few of us in attendance. With that being said, I used my time to meditate and pray. Being close to the heated pool was helpful too. It was a bit cold but honestly once our headphones were on we did warm up a bit.

Thank you to The Luna Maye for having me as her guest and allowing me to bring my Bestie (one of), Elle of Siponwhat.

Friday Movie Release

Today, John Wick: Chapter 4 is out today. John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes. Make sure you support the movie.

I also was able to enjoy signature cocktails, The Continental and Chapter 4 at Ashton Cigar Bar. Not only did it make for a great date night with the husband but it also allowed me to cross off my desire to go to a cigar bar off of my list. FYI, if you aren’t able to wash your hair after going to a cigar bar, use dry shampoo and a rub your hair with a dryer sheet from your laundry room. Trust me it works.

That is all for this week. I have one event I believe and then a break until Tuesday. If you listen to the podcast you will hear the upcoming plan for events and activities. Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend!
