Summer Mindfulness Activities

Happy Monday! We are all on summer time vibes. Summer is in full swing and from keeping our mental health in tact to enjoying the sun and fun I want this summer to be the best yet. So how we approach our day matters.

Monday Summer Vibes

As we increase a mentally relaxed state of mind, it’s easy to put ourselves last in the name of fun. With all of the fun that is to be had doesn’t mean that your intentionality can go to the wayside. Being light in your mindset still requires you to be clear on what your needs are. From what you eat, how you show up, and more is dependent on a few factors:

Personal Goals-Monday Focus

Our goals are consistently changing. Learn to be okay with that. As you evolve your mindset will go up and down. Understand it. Often times if we get down on ourselves about the times that feel that we aren’t at our best, stops the progress. There will be times when you are going to feel like you’re knocking it out the park. The other times can feel debilitating. In those debilitating times is when the confidence is on the line. As soon as you’re able to see past the temporary feeling, shake yourself, and rebuild.

Summer Mindfulness Activities

What does your summer look like? With the kids being home I have relaxed the schedule. Here are a few more examples of how to increase your self care and keep mindfulness at the top of your list:

Summer Excuses

Some of the reasons we falter with our summer mindfulness is that we allow all kinds of excuses to take a hold of our lives. For one the biggest excuse is “nobody wants to see these thunder thigs in shorts or a swimsuit.” These types of excuses will exist if you allow them. Summer bodies are the bodies we simply put clothes on. So, if you are not as fit and trim as you want it is okay. Get comfortable. I am not wearing a parka unless I want to this Summer. Put the shorts and swimming suits on.

Monday Money Moment

Money is always a determining factor for doing activities. I have my own family of 5 so no matter if it’s eating out or going to the beach the numbers do climb for us. However, you can find ways to get those summer vibes in you just have to be willing to be creative. For instance, when I first stepped into a 2-kid household, we found things like movies on Tuesdays and free bowling to take the kids. That gave us two days to be out of the house. We added in special readings at Barnes and Nobles with lunch at the park and you had a full week with limited money spent. Creativity does not mean you simply do not go you just find better ways to go.
