Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Women History Month! Today’s honorees come with a double punch of blessings. Talk about leveling up in life these young ladies don’t hold back as they hit us with the truth about life lessons. One that about life, you learn that experience opens up as soon as you take the lessons and explore all that this world has to offer.

Hello Next Level Podcast

I worked backwards this time because when you have a podcast that is about the lessons you learned, the content writes itself. Hello Next Level Podcast is for women who want tips on how to live life on your own terms. It’s fun, an easy listening and most importantly informative. It’s like listening to best friends chop it up with non judgmental advice.

Women and Life Teachings

It’s important anytime you have a podcast, blog, or any social medium that you are clear in the messaging. I wanted to know what were some of the hardest lessons learned.

Taylor’s Lesson…

Taylor’s hardest lessons was putting herself first. Long gone are the ideas of allowing everyone to be taken care of and selling yourself short. Women realize more and more now that in order to be the best versions of themselves they have to take care of them first. This is self care and self love. It’s not about frills although who doesn’t love that every now and again?! It’s realizing that you may have to say no because you aren’t in the same space to take on that venture, event, etc. It may be in the form of filling your internal cup before you fill up someone else’s!

Kirstyn’s Lesson…

Kirstyn’s lesson was to learn that she’s “not her thoughts!” Sometimes we tell ourselves things and think on things that we internalize these negative thoughts as the gas that we fuel our lives with. Kirstyn learned that this change in thoughts was the catalyst to success in anything that you do! Her journey into her thought process has changed her outlook.

Looking Back To Step Forward

It’s easy to walk in this self discovery as you grow and mature. It also has a lot to do with being willing to do the work to a better mindset and person. But let’s step it back. How was Taylor and Kirstyn in their younger years?

Hometown Happenings

When you live in a small town it’s easy to get complacent. You think life is great where your are there’s no need to expand your horizon. Having those hometown values are important. However there’s nothing like traveling and seeing the world. Taylor (and Kirstyn) stated going to college, traveling, and exploring led her to the belief that the world has so much to offer. As soon as the world opens up safely, get out and look beyond your home and live. Traveling will open your mind to the larger network the world has!

Ambition and Drive

Kirstyn describes her and Taylor which by the way if you haven’t caught on are childhood friends, were encouraged to go after their dreams. Do you know how much people lack having someone pushing their ambition? Kirstyn encourages others to

“trust their gut and go for it!

Whatever your IT is you can and will do it, take that first step!

Podcast Life

One of the first lessons when doing a podcast is to get clear of your why. For both Taylor and Kirstyn it was creating a safe place for women to come and hear these life lessons. I love the way the two of their energy bounces off of each other. I’ve listened to a few one their episodes in preparation for this blog. They really have a soothing way or letting you know it’s time to gather yourself and change your thinking.

Podcast Branding

When your content comes from personal experience it’s challenging to focus on branding. In one aspect you want it to be pure but you also want to get your offerings out into the world. Both Taylor and Kirstyn acknowledge the same struggle. They focus on making the content streamlined so that the content, voice, and messaging is distinct.

Hustle and Motivation

Taylor and Kirstyn are both inspired by each other and their future selves as they grow. Listen, the way they both lean in on one another is very distinct even on the podcast. It’s always a beautiful thing when you surround yourself with like minded women. Having the one woman in your world you can depend on also be one of your best friends is a true blessing. Their daily motivation includes being

“motivated by the fact that every day comes with learning new things, reading books, meeting new people, and improving our lives!”

Self Care Must Haves

Taylor’s include taking care of her plants, reading and being in nature.

Kirstyn’s are reading, journaling, being in nature, and weight lifting.

Thank you both for doing the inner work to be able to be a vessel to be used in the podcast space. This platform is an amazing one as its allows people to hear your work as it ignites them to think through their own issues at the same time. Not to mention podcast can be listening to no matter what you’re doing! Listen to Sunday’s past episode on Toxic Positivity!
