Lightyear Friday Movie

Happy Friday. Early Father’s Day to all of the Fathers who are hands on with their children and supportive. As we end this week there are a lot of media events. Tomorrow I will be covering new brunch items to try at Louie Louie. So as far as this week I am in full Mom Camp mode.

Last Day of School

School is finally out as of yesterday. I have so much to say on the school and how the year went down but instead I will just say-I’m grateful. My kids championed through the school year this year. 2 years of being out of traditional school and they still made Honors. I know that I am fortunate that my children go to a private school because the Philadelphia public schools right now is shambles. I am hoping for the sake of the kids that go there that the new Superintendent will do a better job. So with the Summer here I will be sharing our adventures. If you remember from years in the past with Storr Summer Camp– I will set a budget and try to beat it with free, reduced priced, and collaborations in the city.

Kimmel Center Balcony Bar

This past Wednesday in conjunction with Center City Sips was the opening of Balcony Bar. Balcony Bar is located on the second floor and has happy hour prices. Bites are supplied through Garces and the drinks are outstanding. Pro of the situation, the roof allows fresh air. There are 3 bars serving. The Wednesday crowd was the biggest it had ever had. There was a lot of people. So if you are concerned with the volume of people come at about 600. The hours are from 445-7pm. That last hour the crowd was lower and the wait for drinks was much lower. However it was a success and I will definitely be back.

Elvis Movie Screening Next Friday Alert

I attended the movie, Elvis with Warner Brothers. The movie is excellent. It’s a great movie to view. I have to make the assumption that the movie was based more on his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. So a lot of the things that we have heard about Elvis isn’t challenged as highly as I wanted. However, Austin Butler who played Elvis my goodness he played the role. It’s crazy how he looked so close to Elvis’ resemblance and what we would consider her mannerisms. My thought with all productions no matter how layered they are view them for yourself. The movie comes out next Friday June 24th.

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

Today’s episode features my husband, Marques. We talk about Fatherhood and his relationship or non existent one with his dad. The talk includes how that shaped or molded his parenting with our own kids. We honor amazing Dads but also highlight that Fathers matter too. When Fathers aren’t in a child’s life how that hurts the child in the long run. Also what do men really want for Father’s Day? Listen in if you haven’t gotten a gift yet. It’s really simple.

Have a great Friday and weekend.
