Sesame Place

This blog is sponsored by Sesame Place but the view are all of my own.

We had an amazing time at Sesame Place located in Langhorne Pennsylvania. This was our first amusement/water park since the pandemic. With that said, so many wonderful aspects to going for families with children. From the ability to gage which of the water activities you want to participate in and more.

Things to Know Before Going to Sesame Place

Often times when going to a water park especially with children preparation is key. Allow the kids to wear their swimsuits under their clothes. Pack extra clothes just in case. Here are a few things to consider:

  • Sunblock
  • Waterproof phone cover
  • Water shoes
  • Cover up if needed
  • Swim Diapers
  • Extra Battery Pack
  • Water Jacket if appropriate

All of the above items minus the cover ups they have. It will of course cost you more. Unlike a completely pool situation if you plan to move from water attraction to another have swim shoes with sturdy bottoms. The ground is very hot. I saw a lot of parents and children who didn’t have it. Many of them by noon had bought some from the water park. These are for your safety. You can purchase add ons to your time at Sesame Place like front of the line access, rent Cabanas, Dinner with Elmo, and more.

All of this is to enhance your experience. Make sure you purchase parking before you go. It makes it an easier flow in my observation. Preferred parking is an extra $5-get it. You are closer to the park. After a day of water and heat you need that less of a walk. Also if you need to rent a wheelchair, electric scooter, or stroller, do all of that ahead of time to avoid them being sold out. Remember the point is being organized so that you can have all of the fun.

Logistics and Movement Around Park

We used the lockers that were located at the beginning of the park. For a family of 5 the largest size was more than enough space to hold bags, shoes, and clothes. The $40 was well worth it. We could go back and forth as we needed to. This helped us for when we changed to meet the Power Rangers. They really are good size. We quickly changed. We brought a small bag to carry things like my battery pack, sunblock, sunglasses, and small snacks. Keep in mind, I couldn’t find my water safe bags. There are some. I didn’t see any at the park but that was because I was avoiding to purchase it. Having a water repellant bag is helpful so there is no need for someone to be the designated bag holder.

Our kids are 13, 10, and 8 so they a little older to go into certain areas with one parent. My husband and I switched off on certain water attractions. This was helpful as the one parent was hands on and the other the eyes to oversee. This is how we travel anywhere.

Ernie’s Waterworks

This area was first up. I honestly thought that the kids wouldn’t want to be in here. The age for this area is 7 and under. There were parents of all ages here. It is smaller with less water to help parents to be able to splash around without incident. All of the kids and adults no matter the ages were well behaved and I observed the highest level of respect amongst everyone in this area. No one was running through the little kids. For my 8 year old this was a great place to have her start. It helped her warm up to the water.

Sesame Place

Teeny Tidal Wave

The highest amount of water was under 2 inches. This is great for all ages but geared to a smaller age child and their families. Again my children, husband and I had a great time here. It was just a fun place to splash around. The water was cold but you warm up to it very easily. It was over 80 degrees and the water was a nice welcome.

Sesame Place

Sky Splash

I highly recommend not only getting to the park when it opens but getting on this ride immediately. The longer the day progresses this ride’s line can be long. This ride holds up to 6 people. You tube down a water way. The kids absolutely loved it. The smiles and screams from this ride alone is amazing. If you have smaller kids they will instruc you to wear a water vest/jacket.

Big Bird Rambling River

This is where the kids were at for quite a time. This is where we did all of the lazy river fun. Lazy River is fun for all ages. The countless times that we enjoyed this was so much fun. I fell out of my tub of course but isn’t that the fun of it all? My oldest had a blast in a half once I got into the tube to push me into every waterfall. It really brought sheer smiles and laughter from all of us. There are no frowns inside of Big Bird Rambling River.

Sesame Place

Count’s Splash Castle

This is such a must do. It is an open wide space. All of the water slides, pool like fun on the side along with a large bucket of water that Count counts down to it spilling over. It is a lot of fun. Make sure for younger kids that when the bucket pours that you are holding on to them. The force of the bucket can be overwhelming. My kids, husband and I had so much fun here.

Sesame Place

Sesame Street Party Parade

This is a must see. All of your favorite Sesame Street Characters all in one place. The amount of singing and dancing that took place really was such a treat. Families lined up on Sesame Street enjoying the fun. So much pictures, and videos as well as pure nostalgia. A few things to keep in mind. Once in your place and the parade starts, you will not be permitted to cut across. There is also no coming off the street to hug the characters. The characters when it’s safe will come to you and hug if they are able. They will not be able to get to everyone. This can be hard for some smaller children to understand. Explain it as much as you can.

Meet and Greets: Power Rangers

There are several meet and greets. Also there are many musical shows etc. So when you book your time, plan ahead of it. With so much to do you may have to use that as your excuse to come back. For instance, we attended the Meet and Greet of the Power Rangers. I scheduled them ahead of time. I made them for the end of the day. Either arrange at the beginning or end of your day.  No parent wants to hear your child (ren) complaint they aren’t ready because of a Meet and Greet interrupting their day. We saw the Red and Yellow separately an then the Black, Pink and Blue Rangers at another time.

Power Rangers at Sesame Place

I know this was a lot of information. However keep in mind, Sesame Place has all that you need in one place. For instance we rode Amusement rides too. We enjoyed our lunch at Dine with Elmo and Friends while my husband and son ate at Big Bird’s Burgers and Bites. There is plenty of food to eat and drink plus coffee for my parents and caregivers who need their Starbucks.

Remember to be patient when it’s time to take pictures with the characters and form a line and follow the direction of the staff

I enjoyed immensely going to Sesame Place. I look forward to going back. Check in the month of June has a great lineup of guests to see while there. Enjoy your time. Stay safe. I saw 3 parents who lost their child around the time of the parade. The crowds are easy to lose a child. The staff at Sesame Place are well trained in aiding help. If you need help of any kind they will do above and beyond their call of duty. Shout out to all of the parents that helped those 3 parents without initial judgement. Have fun and let me know when you go and how well you enjoyed it.
