Wednesday therapy

Happy Wednesday. I hope your week is off to a good start. On today’s check in I am going to talk about therapy. There is a misconception that if your life looks good on the outside that it is also good on the inside. That is not the case. People struggle from every walk in life. So let’s catch up.

Wednesday Therapy Talk

Therapy is a tool. Not everyone sees value in it but it is something that everyone should explore at least once. You can’t say that therapy doesn’t work if you haven’t tried it. However therapy isn’t always some happy go lucky tool. For instance after therapy you may have a plethora of feelings. Sometimes I’ve been incredibly sad or even angry. Often times I am relieved or content. So before going into therapy read up on the things that you need to know from scheduling and more.

Faith Based Therapy

I started with a new therapist yesterday and it was on time. In anticipation of that therapy my body became incapacitated. I couldn’t get out of the bed. My stomach hurt. I couldn’t eat or drink anything. It was because of all of the feelings I had been feeling the last few weeks started to boil to the service. However what I am grateful for having therapy so I could cry and release it. My therapist right now seems to be what I need. He’s attentive and listens to me, validates my feelings, and gave me already things that I need to add to my day to help with the depressive mood I have been in.

Wednesday therapy

I chose a man, and someone not faith based. In the past, I have had issues with faith based counselors too. I am a PK (Preacher’s Kid) so I prefer someone who isn’t hitting me with guilt about not having enough faith. Faith and needing help can collide. Prayer and works like therapy, medicine if necessary can again collide and more. So make sure you choose your therapist wisely for what you need. For anyone who has been overwhelmed, irritable and more add therapy to your list. FYI I tried it through Better Help and I found the process quicker and more streamlined than regular in house therapy at a facility.

Weekend Staycation

Over the weekend my husband and I took a little staycation to celebrate his birthday.  My husband gave every area of his life his time. From his family, our marriage and his friends he celebrated his birthday his way. We needed a little staycation. We stayed at Marriott Courtyard. A time was had. From the food and drinks, to rest, connecting and more. I am a fan of the Marriott Courtyard. It’s close to our home, clean, and restful.

The last time I went there was for a girls trip and some of the concerns I had then were fixed. From the food being more available and drinks made with care-they get a stamp of approval from me. This is just the beginning not only am I adding more staycations as a couple and individual but we just book our family vacation this month and I can’t wait.

Galentine’s Day Celebration at Louie Louie-Wednesday Recap

There is always fun to be had at Louie Louie. They have a wonderful Galentine’s event every year. This is my 3rd one and I had a ball. We started with flowers from Lizzie’s Secret Garden. These flowers were beautiful and smelled so good. I loved making my own bouquet. I encourage all to make yourself a weekly bouquet of flowers. They are something I have been doing for awhile.  Do not wait for others to do it for you. They add fragrance to your home and boost your mode. There was shopping with Bus Stop Boutique, Jurgi, Realm Fine Jewelry, and Brkft flowers that makes bouquets from dried flowers. Bites with Charcuterie Chic Philly, and Belle Millie Italian. Cocktails were provided by Louie Louie of Fearless restaurants. They were outstanding.

Check your local listings to see what Galentine’s Day events are being held near you. I promise even if you go by yourself and you are open to it, you will find at least one other new person to connect with.  I did just that and will make sure I follow up with them and formulate what can come from it.

So this Wednesday is revealing a lot of challenges. From therapy and more. But I still will press forward and see how my week will turn out. I have two events that I am attending today. I will report back. Later on today around 1pm look for a theatre review. Have an amazing Wednesday and rest of your week.
