Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Good Sunday morning to you! I hope you are having a great start to your Sunday. Todays message is all about adding pauses in your day.

Out and About

As more and more holiday inspired events present themselves I’m finding myself loving being out. Most of the events are outside. Fresh air is so good to have. With these changing variants I still would caution how you move. Being out and about you have to do more pauses. A busy schedule and being booked at the younger generation would say still requires self care and saying NO!

How to Ignite a Sunday or Any Day Pause?

Taking the initiative to block out your schedule. Have some non negotiables on your calendar. A day or two of doing nothing and sticking with it. Adding down time is essential to resting. Rest even if it’s not in the form of naps and sleep is a way to quiet the mind. Although I still encourage getting sleep and taking a nap too. Naps are apart of self care.

Set aside an activity that you enjoy. Do it by yourself or only invite someone who loves the activity at the same level that you do! Trust me just inviting a friend who doesn’t share your level of passion is problematic. I have people ask me all the time, “why didn’t you in me?” It’s simple if you don’t share the same excitement it only makes the time being together feel wasted. It sounds harsh but the reality hearing someone complain while you’re in your element is not a good time.

Fill Your Cup Sunday Edition

We are quick to assist others. There comes a time where we have to pause and do for yourself. It’s not selfish to put your first. No one else is going to do it but you. Fill your cup. Take that walk, eat that dessert, read that book, book that staycation, but do you! Stop allowing things and others to strip you of your precious time. Life is short and it’s becoming abundantly clear these days that we need to fill our cups to the top!

Self Care is Daily Care

Everyday you can find something that fuels you. It has to be something outside of your titles in life. I love being a mom and watching my children grow and explore. However in those great mom moments I still need a moment to be just me. To exist without stressing over my mom life. Even for a few minutes, draw or color in a book. Do a crossword puzzle or read a magazine. Little things add great rewards.

Anxiety and Pause

There’s no secret that I deal with anxiety! I’ve been forthcoming on my journey. When you have anxiety even taking a break comes with imposter syndrome and questions on worthiness. You are worthy trust me of a pause. A pause actually helps with anxiety. Doing too much can be a trigger if you’re not taking care of yourself.

As you start this Sunday take a pause today! Start with a pause if you’re able. Enjoy that cup of coffee or tea, sleep in a little, or simply enjoy not doing a whole lot when you’re able! Happy Sunday!
