Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

sunday

Good Sunday to you all. I hope today is filled with peace and love. So as we start another Sunday it may be filled with Sunday Scaries or Sunday relaxation. No matter where you are and where you stand, it’s time to say goodbye to old ways that don’t serve us. In order to figure out what you need to personally get rid of ask yourself a few questions:

Does it Uplift You?

So even on things that aren’t necessarily bad we need to sometimes adjust. For instance, the notion that you can’t do laundry on certain days. Things like ways of thinking that aren’t aligning with good mental help need to be stopped. Examples are, “therapy is only for certain people,” or “I don’t have issues.” All of these things may not uplift you. Why are we doing it or thinking it?

Does it Make Good Money

Not all money is good money. So ask yourself will you be proud of the way you got it? If the answer is no, let it go. Find something to replace it that will make you proud. FYI before you hit me with strippers or any other job you deem as bad, remember that’s your mindset. Some people are comfortable in their skin to do what they do for the season of doing it. You could be an accountant working for a company that isn’t legitimate and need to get out of it. There is foolishness at every job. For example I had a job where my boss was so horrible to the women on the job and the only regret I have was not leaving sooner. It was at that time that I made a promise to go where I am celebrated and respected going forward.

Does it or Do they Bring out the Best in You?

This is tough. Answering this question may bring you to the realization that a mistake was made on your side. this can be gut wrenching. Living and being in a circle of mess that you caused doesn’t bring a good feeling. It actually hurts. For instance I was dating a man who wasn’t for me. When I realized how many years I wasted I felt immediately sick to my stomach. It happens. Take the L and get an exit plan that keeps you safe and can give the minimal blow. Nothing and no one around you should remain if it doesn’t bring out the best in you. Anything that gives you more tears and fear isn’t for you.

Sunday

Sunday Self Talk

On Sundays we take some time to be honest. Sundays are usually slower and less productive. Although we take personal accountability everyday-Sundays are for reflection. If any question that was asked above that made you realize that you have work to do, it’s okay. Welcome to Adulting. This is a daily shift. Working on self is not for the faint. Often times we get frustrated because often times being accountable means shifting and starting over. Starting over doesn’t feel good but definitely is necessary.

Self Care Sundays

I practice and encourage daily self care. However the world has deemed Sundays as Sunday Self Care. What will you do today to help make your week a great one. For instance, I meal prepped all of the food I wanted to make yesterday I did all of the household chores, and and client work yesterday. Today I will only be doing the bare basics and any activity that I do will be what I want that brings me joy. I have plans to read my books, listen to podcast, rest, drink some wine, and relax.

I wish your Sunday to be all that you need so you can reset for your week. Happy Sunday and we will be back for Monday Motivation!!
