Behind the Velvet Rope: My VIP Experience at Netflix House

On Monday , November 10th, I stepped into a world where streaming meets spectacle—Netflix House officially opens its doors at the King of Prussia Mall today. I had the honor of attending the VIP launch event. From the moment I arrived, it was clear: this wasn’t just an opening, it was a full-on immersive celebration of storytelling, fandom, and sensory delight.

What Is Netflix House?

Netflix House is Netflix’s first permanent entertainment venue, designed to bring its most iconic shows to life. Think Stranger Things, Squid Game, Wednesday, One Piece, and Love Is Blind—all reimagined as interactive sets, escape rooms, mini golf courses, and themed dining experiences.

It’s free to enter but the experiences can cost between $15-45 dollars. There’s plenty of food options to buy, amazing gifts and souvenirs, movies, Virtual Reality, and more.

What to expect when you go

Plan ahead is the best advice. Book your experiences ahead of time and get there early so you don’t miss out. Pack some patience especially since it’s new. If you’re able to go during the week in the daytime do that. It will get more packed at night, during school breaks, weekends, etc.

Plan out your souvenirs. There are a lot of things to purchase. So I would walk around before making final decisions. Also my GPS took me right to the location for those of us who struggle with maps. It’s not hard to see it once you arrive. Trust me!

VIP Perks and First Impressions

As a VIP guest, I got early access to the full 100,000+ square feet of curated chaos. Here’s what stood out:

  • “Wednesday’s Dorm” was hauntingly beautiful, with gothic details and moody lighting that made every corner Instagram-worthy.
  • The “Squid Game” obstacle course was adrenaline-packed and eerily accurate—yes, the red light/green light doll made an appearance.
  • Mini golf inspired by “Love Is Blind” and WWE added a playful twist to the experience, perfect for families and date nights.
  • Food and merch were themed to the shows—think burgers from “Stranger Things”’ Starcourt Mall and collectibles from “Rebel Moon.”

The Vibe: Fandom Meets Philly

The energy was electric. Philly creators, influencers, and families mingled with Netflix execs and local artists (shoutout to muralist Emily White whose work anchors the venue’s entrance). It felt like a love letter to fans—especially those of us who turn binge-watching into community-building.

Sensory Moments

From the moment I stepped into Netflix House, my senses were on high alert—in the best way. The air buzzed with anticipation and the scent of buttery popcorn and themed snacks wafted through the space like a cinematic welcome mat. Each room was a portal: the eerie hum of “Stranger Things” lights flickering overhead, the echo of footsteps in “Squid Game’s” stark corridors, the velvet hush of “Wednesday’s” gothic dorm.

Sound design played a starring role. The thrum of bass in the “Bridgerton” ballroom bled into the sharp whistle of “One Piece” winds, creating a layered audio landscape that pulled you deeper into each world. Even the lighting shifted with mood—neon pinks for romance, shadowy blues for suspense, golden glows for nostalgia. It wasn’t just immersive—it was emotionally choreographed. Netflix House didn’t just showcase shows; it let you feel them, in your bones, your breath, your skin.

Is Netflix House worth it?

Netflix House isn’t just a venue—it’s a portal. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a curious visitor, it invites you to step into the stories that shape our screens and our imaginations. As a content creator and health advocate, I’m especially excited about how this space can foster connection, creativity, and even wellness through play.
