Catch up with me: October 2026
October has come in so beautifully. I hope the month was a blessing for you. Here is a recap of all the things that I have enjoyed this month. In addition, next month makes the official 12 years that I have been blogging. I am grateful for everything that I have learned. The life I have now isn’t because I am the best one to do it, but consistency has always been there.
Travel Plans in October were Immaculate
This month I did my big one. From the college reunion with my college friends and husband. We enjoyed Penn State University in a way that made the most sense. The food, drinks, and the fun can’t be capped. I enjoyed seeing my girls and having that time to decompress without the kids. Penn State doesn’t owe me anything. In addition, I traveled to Florida to enjoy Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. If you are thinking about going you should plan a trip. If you are worried about costs, cut your cost by doing an in and out trip. Thank me later. Go on a Saturday and come back same day, sleep in on Sunday, and enjoy the memories.
Advocacy for the People
In addition to the travel with the elections around the corner have been making videos and content to get people advised of their rights. Some of it was sponsored and some are not. As a political science major, it is important for me to break down complex issues for others. In addition, I had the opportunity to travel to Harrisburg to advocate with Time Done. Time Done is an organization that helps others who have served their time to get services for housing, jobs, and more. In addition, they speak up for others who need that second chance.
Give Folks their Flowers
I attended a celebration for my grandfather, Curtis Allen Sr. He has been a pillar in the community for years. My two older children and I traveled to Lancaster, PA to honor him. Although we couldn’t control the atmosphere, we were there to make sure that we showed support. If you have older family members do your part to make sure they know of their impact on your life.
Sponsored Content of the Month
As I stated before, some content is sponsored and some are not. In addition, I do my best to make sure that if something is sponsored or not on my page. If you see content creators not displaying sponsored content, know that legally they aren’t doing what they are supposed to do. It should be clear what is and what’s not sponsored.

Halloween Fun in Philly and Beyond
Since it is at the end of the month, here are some last minutes fun that you need for Halloween. Make sure that you have a fun time and stay safe. Halloween is a time for you to be light.
Things to Consider as we step into November
November is upon us and that brings up emotions as the holidays are heating up. As soon as you give out Halloween candy some will immediately put up their Christmas items. I am not mad at it. Let’s end this debate as to when is the right time for Christmas décor. You should put up the décor as soon as you want to. That’s the answer. The day or timing is unimportant.
Here are some of the things that people will celebrate or be mindful in November
- Daylight Saving
- Election Day
- Diwali
- Veterans Day
- Thanksgiving
So, if you are struggling this November make sure to take precautions now. For instance, in years in the past, I have scheduled Thanksgiving therapy morning. If not, go with your therapist a few days before that day. Have a holiday plan. Personally, I will be enjoying the folks that I live with alone. Quiet time, staycation, and some family time with the people I live with is what I look forward to. This is the time of the year that is my calm before Christmas plans explode.
That is all for now, let’s see what November brings. Thanks for your continued support.
