Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday. What a week. I am definitely in full blown mode of being back in Content Creation mode. So the week was slow in a way for Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday the week went so fast. Now the weekend has a lot going down. So outside of that I am in the last minute Back to School mode as we have one more week to go. Parents, how are you holding up?

Theatre Thursday

I coined yesterday Theatre Thursday due to the fact that I posted both theatre reviews that I attended this week. For one, I attended Grand Horizons. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read the blog, make sure you do. It’s an hilarious story of a married couple who decides to divorce after 50 years of marriage. The other play that I attended was Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen. It was such a thought provoking play that deals with suicide, being seen, and mental wellness. Also make sure that you also listen to the special podcast/interview with Nikhil Saboo who plays Connor and Micaela Lamas who plays Alana.

New School Year means New School

I debated for quite some time with my husband about whether or not we should change schools. After months of looking, praying on it, we decided to move all of the kids. We gave our oldest the decision to stay at her school since she is in the 8th grade. However once we toured she decided she wanted to leave with her siblings. There was a lot of factors that we used to make the decision. It came down what we felt would be in our kids’ interest first. Administrators at the old school made it easier the more they become unresponsive to handling our concerns. So with that a new journey into a new school a new territory awaits us soon. We have been doing all we can to ease their thoughts and fears. For instance, going to the school often to visit. Talking more and listening to them most so we can hear their concerns.

With the new school the expectations is greater. My kids are amazing students and not just because I am their Mom. They kill it academically and they are well mannered. I have never heard anything of the contrary not in our personal lives or in an academic setting. So my husband and I will encourage them to do their best as we always do.

Mainline Today Restaurant Week

I attended the preview for Mainline Today Restaurant Week held at 118 North Wayne. The food was absolutely delicious. It was my first time there and I was impressed. Think food and live show joining together for a marvelous time. The drinks were so good that nothing I had I didn’t like. What you can expect for Mainline Today Restaurant Week is for it to go from August 22-September 4th.

Friday review

Franklin and Whitman Friday Self Care Treat

I had the honor of attending the Franklin and Whitman Skincare event. We learned about what the brand stood for. One of the things that I love is that their products are cruelty free and vegan. Using them will bring so much peace. With that being said, of course I have to share that the event was beautiful. We even got an opportunity to take professional shots which I can’t wait to get back soon. Do not worry, you know I will share them.

The food was good and I especially loved the vegan cheese by Bandit. I will be adding that to my own collection for sure. Also I love a good cocktail and they had plenty of them to offer. There is no way that you can have a skincare event without leaving with goodies. We were able to make our own Botanical Steam to our own liking.

This is not the professional shot either

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

This is the last episode of the season. Can you believe it. I do have a bonus episode that will come out that is prerecorded. This will give only a week break instead of two as we step into Season 7 in September. In today’s episode we talk about the Back to School stress and stress in general and ways to handle it. I hope it helps you in some way. We all could use a reset.
