New Year

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. I hope your week was great. Mine had some low points but with low points you know that you can only go up. This is the final Friday recap of the month and year. This year seemed to have flown by quickly. If you missed this week’s New Year prep I will recap that and some new goals for 2024.

New Year Recap

What you do for the New Year is up to you. I hate when people try to give advice as if it is something that is set in stone. Your advice should always be about inspiring. For me I can’t tell you what the keys to success are because everyone defines success in different ways. What I can help to do is inspire you to seek out what will help you to be grounded, feel empowered, and guide you to the best version of yourself. That may come in doing more inner work that will help your outer work. It could also have you work on your outside and then seek inner peace. There are a thousand and one roads to a destination. Finding the one that helps you to not have to take as many detours is key.

Personal Goals

Again, since I want to inspire you hopefully something I list will help you add or take away from the things you have on your heart to be more committed to. For instance, with me a lot of things is about taking the time to be more present. This is a very hard thing for a content creator to do. We are always thinking of ways to record things so that it helps with visuals. So here are some areas I am working on that extend from 2023 into my 2024:

  • Keep monitoring my mental health plan
  • Response check before I speak
  • Maintain a healthier balance of work and personal life
  • Do 5 pitches per month

What is in a Planner?

There are many people who do not use a planner. I see nothing wrong with not using one. Some people rely on their cell phones to be their guide. There are no wrong answers. For me I operate off 2 paper/book planners, one digital planner, and my phone for alerts. This seems excessive. I have one for content creation. Most of my post are not random. I reuse content all the time.  I have so much content that if I never went to another Philly event my page will flourish. In addition, I am creative that is the title of a creative. I want more creatives to tap into their creativity using what they already have. Often, I see people only rely on invitation only events. They should be fillers.

The other planner has my life in it. From uber parent responsibilities, where I need to be and more. The digital planner allows me to cross reference things from the paper planner and write out my thoughts in how I plan to get organized. Lastly, I do have the events that I need to be in my phone. I use that so I can link my husband schedule to mine and vice versa. This helps us to know where we need to be as a force. We rely on this to help us make decisions on what we can do and what we can’t. I cross reference my phone and my paper planners. We all know that technology is great until it doesn’t.

My favorite planner brands:

To Gym or not To Gym for the New Year

I have a gym membership so yes I will be at the gym more this year. The goal is to get more on a solidified schedule. It is hard but not impossible. If you have an issue with going to the gym and can afford at home exercise, get it. This way you can meet your goals. If at home gym is too expensive utilize free exercise apps or just work out using YouTube and more. Whatever you do remember a few things:

  • Balance is key
  • Your bad isn’t your worse
  • Off scale victories matter sometimes better than on scale victories

Well, that is it for us. The podcast of Conversations with Toi is out today. The episode covers the upcoming show of Ain’t Too Proud. I was able to interview E. Clayton Cornelious who plays Paul Williams as they tell the story of The Temptations. Tickets are available now.

In addition, I talk about many goals that I feel are missed. Remember the list is supposed to inspire not be an end all. That is, it for the Blog for the year. I will attempt to have a fresh blog for the 2024 as we start off our Monday. I will be doing series as well this year. This is a great way to focus the content.
