Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. How has your 2024 started? I want to give a reminder that we are only in the second week. You don’t have to have every goal completed. Slow and steady wins the race. If you did a few things on your list great. If you did nothing-great. Move the way that works best for you. On today’s Friday recap I will talk about media events I have done as well as things to look forward to this weekend.

Media Events Friday Recap

This week was a little more low key. I missed two moving screenings of Mean Girls due to the storm that came. Allegedly if you are in or near Philadelphia prepare for round 2. It amazes me the amount of people worry about how others feel when it comes to preparation to storms that caused significant damage to many homes and businesses. My oldest has been in school in 3 days because there is no power.

Amanda of Phillyfoodandbarrs went to Tataki Ramen. If you are looking to see how that went make sure you read the blog. Last night I attended the media event for Neff Knows at Blue Sunday in Bensalem. The food was delicious. They have plenty of room for seating and hosting small parties. The cocktails were delicious. If you love Hennessey, make sure you try the Peach Henne. It is delicious. There are a lot of media events that are on the calendar for the next week.

I will be bringing you dumplings, Museum of Illusions, theatre reviews, White Elephant Valentine’s and Galantine’s edition, and some behind the scenes with Philadelphia Horticulture Society also known as the Philly Flower Show. You know I won’t miss an opportunity to add in some self-care and mental health tips along the way.

How I took Care of Myself This Week

I am planning on adding this into the Friday recap. This is for my personal accountability and encouragement to you. Taking care of you looks different for everyone. For instance, I stayed on top of my medication, increased my water intake, been hitting the gym hard, and rested. It may look different to you. Here are the areas I will work on for next week: adding my no content dates for January and February, increasing my time with friends, and signing up for a few races for the Spring. How did you take care of you this week? There are no wrong answers. Make sure you take time to reflect. Matter of fact make that your journal prompt this week.

Weekend Vibes-Friday Reminders

I am sharing in video content form a brunch I had at Attico Rooftop. The power of brunching and being around people you like is real. I don’t know who needs to hear this but make the reservation. I go to brunches sometimes because I am invited but more often due to the fact that brunch is fun. Having a few drinks with loved ones really is a mood booster. However, be choosy this year with your friends. The amount of people arguing over who is paying the bill is crazy. Research the fact that not all restaurants will allow you to split the bill. If you are unsure about it bring cash. Usually when I go with friends one person pays the bill and everyone sends an electronic payment while we are at the table.

The amount of people fighting for their lives over who is paying makes no sense. Do NOT assume anything. Communication is key with any relationship and that includes friends too.

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

I am still very much on a break. The podcast will return next week. I am having a few Content creators as I highlight the ups and downs that people aren’t aware that happens behind the scenes. This is a good listen to those who want to start their journey. I will share the tips that I did to start, and I hope it inspires. Season 10 is going to be full of mindset conversations. My goal is to inspire more people to reach for their goals. As always, I will include what is happening in these internet streets.

That is all I have this week. Take care of you. Rest and get some movement too. Don’t try to overschedule every second of your weekend. It is okay to simply relax.
