Have you tried Banana Mousse?
Banana Mousse is a dessert haven that has been in existence since 2015. Known amongst students as the sweet tooth escape they are located near Temple University, La Salle, and University of Pennsylvania. This treat location makes an ordinary dessert anything than ordinary. So it was so befitting that I took myself and my youngest their this past weekend to give it a try.

What to Know before you go to Banana Mousse?
I went to the Temple (Broad Street) location. There is a bus stop right in the front. If you drive like me there is street parking available. I personally parked right in front of the store. It is super clean. You can order ahead for pick up, have it delivered using the delivery apps, or come in and take out. Since it is more of a pick up spot there is limited seating. Everything is not banana based. I was surprised to find that out. However you can add bananas to anything you order. The Broad Street location is 834 N. Broad Street. The other location is at 5602 Spruce Street.

Top Selling Item
Is the Original Mousse. You can add bananas to it and other toppings. It’s also made with Chessmen cookies. This is one of the biggest debates especially in a Black home. Do you put chessman or nilla wafer cookies. Now my dad makes the best banana pudding ever. His is added with strawberries. I remember coming home from college year by year and adding it to one of the eating holidays. It was super delicious and it is a core memory. So of course I had the Strawberry Cheesecake Mousse with Banana.
Strawberry Cheesecake Mousse
It wasn’t my dads. His has its own flavor to it. Did I like it? I loved it. How do I know? I devoured it within minutes. It was the fluffiness of the mousse. The strawberry cheesecake wasn’t overbearing either. You know how when you eat strawberry flavored anything it can be too strong? This wasn’t it. Perfectly matched it was a delightful dessert? My only regret was that it wasn’t bigger. However, it was the perfect size.

Banana Mousse Birthday Shake
They also have milkshakes. My youngest doesn’t like anything bananas. However when you are a mom on the move you have to bring your kids to work type lifestyle. I checked the menu and came up with alternatives. This is why I was glad that the items weren’t banana based. That opened up more options. So she got the Banana Mousse Birthday Shake. Of course she elected to get the decorated cup with it. That means the sprinkles were on the outside of the cup too. It’s no surprise that this is an item asked for many kids. It’s fun and delicious. She allowed me to have a few sips.

Customer Service Matters
As I always do I walked in and didn’t say who I was. Never mentioned that I was there to do content. It’s a way to gage their customer service. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted. This is important. If a company switches up I know that there is a possibility they will do the same lack of customer service with a regular customer service. They explained their offerings and then I mentioned who I was. I met the owner. Shawna and while I waited for her I people watched. They greeted everyone with a smile. Unbeknownst to them I asked the random customer who walked out about their customer service and she spoke highly of them too.
Customer service matters to me sometimes above the product offering.
All in all if you like mousse which is super fluffy and light you will love them. There are many flavor offerings too. Some are whimsical like the Fruity Pebbles Milkshake to the Chocolate Hash. Try them for yourself. I will be back. Plus my other two kids had FOMO from not going. So when I show up multiple times, simply know it’s just a Philly Thing!

I highly recommend this for a personal quick treat for yourself, great for families, a birthday ending, and date day. The mousse size is great for little hands too. Think about the shake for little kids. It is super filling. I knew this and fed my daughter before we went. She did eat dinner but not as much portion wise as she normally would. I was okay with that. However put space in between meals if you get any of their shakes. Thank you to the entire staff on hand from Banana Mousse during my, mentee, and daughter’s trip.
