Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is playing a People’s Light. Just in time for a Panto, Alice in Wonderland is the most colorful, illustrative, beautiful, and hilarious production of the season. I took my youngest daughter and from the time we sat until we left the show engaged us in so many wonderful ways.

Before you Go to see Alice In Wonderland

The show is divided into two acts with an obvious Intermission. Masks are required while inside of the theater but concessions are back. So you can bring your food that you purchase to your seats. Please make sure you have on your masks when you aren’t eating or drinking. The show is family friendly and kids are definitely welcomed to attend. The show is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. There were quite a few kids in the audience and they sat during the production with no issues. Be prepared to be dazzled. Arrive about 10 minutes or more before the start of the show so you can find your seats with ease.

Alice in Wonderland as a Panto

A Panto is a style of showing that is made for families. There’s a lot of chaos but you have an illustrator of some sort that keeps the audience engaged. Lot of singing and of course lessons to be learned along the way. In addition there is audience participation. You can boo the villain or cheer loudly for the hero. There is a sweet surprise during the show too and kids and adults of all ages truly enjoyed it. It’s not quiet in a panto. This is one of those plays where the more you add the more it adds to the dynamic of your time. My daughter talked back to the characters, interacted and really just enjoyed her time. As a mom I love exposing my children to the Arts because it opens their emotions in ways that I can’t at home.

The Set is Mesmerizing

Before I get into the amazing acting in Alice in Wonderland, we have to talk about the set. If you are familiar about the story line in Alice in Wonderland you know how brightly colored the set has to be to bring the story of Alice in Wonderland. Taking an updated spin we find Grace Ellis Solomon who plays Alice struggling with life in a new school. Her dad has also accepted a new job as assistant Headmaster at the same school. With the changes and challenges that surround Alice and her relationships, each set was handcrafted and gorgeous in every way. Every team member who brought the set to live deserves their flowers.

The Cast of Alice in Wonderland

It’s hard to separate each cast member. They are all individually and collectively genius at their crafts. Some of them it was my first encounter. Others I had seen in other productions and yet all of them were dynamic in every way. The story of Alice in Wonderland relies on each other to pull and draw out their best. I saw such great comedic timing as well as depth of emotions on that stage.

Most of the characters play dua parts just like in Alice in Wonderland. So in addition to that I have nothing bad to say about any of the acting. It was so good that I am currently trying to find time on my schedule to take the rest of my family. When I say you will leave full of smiles I mean it. Every actor/actress came with their A Game. Expect to laugh, learn, catch a lesson, sing, and dance.

It’s your time to get out, get your tickets, and see this Panto. Take your whole family and come and enjoy Alice in Wonderland at People’s Light. It’s showing until January 1, 2023. This will make great tickets to get for a family or friend. Plus with school about to be out-take the kids to a show and let them have a great time. It’s something about the Arts that really brings out the best in all of us. Thanks to People’s Light and Allied Global for having me.
