A Vision Sparked by a Moment

The Rabbit Hole is the brainchild of Alysa Yakeley-Avila, co-owner of Our Daily Bagel, another beloved Conshohocken establishment. The idea for this whimsical cocktail bar was born from a simple yet playful exchange between Alysa and her husband.

One day, she asked him to take a picture, and he jokingly responded, “Only if you go down the rabbit hole.” That moment sparked an idea. The thought of what if there was a place where guests could truly step into a world of wonder was born. A place where cocktails and cuisine transported them into a story? And thus, The Rabbit Hole was born.

A VIP Night to Remember

The VIP Media party was nothing short of magical. The setting was the perfect tone for what guests can expect when The Rabbit Hole officially opens. Upon arrival, we weren’t simply ushered in—we were greeted by The Mad Hatter and The Rabbit themselves. They were dressed in character and fully embodying the playful charm of Alice in Wonderland. Their energetic presence made the evening feel like more than just a bar opening. It  was an immersive experience that invited us to lose ourselves in the moment.

From the whimsical décor to the curated drinkware and presentation, every detail was meticulously designed to transport us into a storybook setting. Intricately designed menus, glowing neon signs, and elegant candlelit accents added an air of mystery and charm. Whether it was the dramatic reveals of mist-filled cocktails or the beautifully plated small bites, the entire event felt like stepping into a dream.

Themed Cocktails That Tell a Story

One of the standout features of The Rabbit Hole is its cocktail menu, which pays homage to Lewis Carroll’s whimsical world. From the Cheshire Grin (a smoky Mezcal blend with passionfruit and brûléed grapefruit) to Through the Looking Glass (a stunning Empress gin creation with butterfly pea flower syrup and clarified ice), each drink is a masterpiece.

Among the most talked-about cocktails of the evening was the Down the Rabbit Hole. The drink is as enchanting as its name suggests. Crafted with Revivalist Gin, blanc vermouth, elderflower liqueur, lemon oleo saccharum, egg white, and delicate edible flowers. This cocktail was a silky, aromatic delight. The balance of floral sweetness with the botanical sharpness of gin made every sip feel like a journey deeper into wonderland.

Then there was the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, a concoction that blurred the lines between a classic cocktail and a decadent tea ritual. With Stateside Vodka, chamomile-infused Lillet Blanc, bergamot liqueur, honey, lemon, and sparkling wine, this drink was both refreshing and sophisticated. The subtle tea notes paired beautifully with citrus and honey, creating a drink that was as whimsical as it was elegant.

Small Plates, Big Impressions

Beyond the cocktails, The Rabbit Hole’s menu is designed for sharing. It is perfect for a night out with friends or a cozy date. The selection includes flatbreads, sliders, caviar dishes, and charcuterie boards, all plated with an artistic touch. The flavors were bold yet refined, proving that this isn’t just a bar—it’s a full-fledged culinary experience.
