Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

So it’s no secret that within the Black community edges are high priority! This is why laying them baby hairs becomes super important to a polished look. However if you’re not careful you can have laid edges that appear snatched and they really be snatched. Edge Naturale is here to help our damaged edges.

Snatched

We as Black women are so unique and diverse. We style our hair in a number of ways. From all kinds of colors, braids, weaves, naturals, and silk presses our hair does it all. With our hair if we aren’t careful we can snatch out our very edges. So it’s one thing to lay them down and another thing to have them fall out.

Postpartum and Hair

When I had each of my kids my edges was the first thing to go. Hair falling out for all postpartum women is real. Them edges look real weak when they don’t exist. I remember crying after each child. We all know hormonal levels as your body starts the process of leveling out plays a huge part in your edges and hair falling out. It doesn’t stop the hurt as we look in the mirror and see the shed in our crown (hair).

Wear and Tear

I’ve had braids that looked so amazing. However after a while depending on who does them I used to get these tiny little bumps on my edges. Those bumps were letting me know that my hair was stressed. Sometimes we ignore that stress and opt in for the overall look. We fail to remember the price to be paid is edges that are patchy and dry.

Healthy Hair is Good Hair

Healthy hair starts with what we eat. What we eat determines our overall health in general. If you’re also more concerned with new fads of styles and less on hair care you will find hair and edges that are stressed. Healthy hair is good hair no matter the texture or length. This is the message I teach my own daughters. Hair has come a long way.

Wigs and Weaves

Wigs and weaves allows you to let your natural hair rest but also give versatility. Weaves have come a long way from only synthetic hair to human hair. You can get clip ins, sew-in tracks, wigs, and as of late headband wigs. This gives every woman at every price point the ability to get a new style how often she would like. These are protective styles along with braids. They allow you to experiment with colors and textures that aren’t your own.

Protective Styles and Edge Naturale

The purpose of braids, wigs, and weaves for so many is to protect their natural hair. I haven’t had a relaxer in my hair for at least 4 or more years. FYI there’s nothing wrong with a relaxer. Remember versatility is a personal choice. Healthy hair is good hair always. We have the options to make the choice on what we want our hair to look like. When protective styles it’s important to keep the hair underneath clean and moisturized. If not you will most likely experience breakage.

Edge Naturale

This super bomb follicle enhancer makes your edges more full as it treats them with the good amount of moisture to bring them back. When you open the jar the white cream smells like peppermint. We know using peppermint oils in your hair helps with dryness and itching. It also has antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties as well. It also has jojoba oil as well. All you have to do is make sure your hair is clean and free from oil and massage into the scalp twice a day! I’ve used this on me and my girls and I’m loving it!

Definitely Not Today on unhealthy hair

My edges are moisturized and you can feel it working as you massage it into your edges.

FYI on Edge Control

My edges are thick. So I do use edge control after I use Edge Naturale. Between sweat, moisture in the air, etc my edges can and will revert or not lay as well as I want them too. I started this blog talking about healthy hair and for me edges go along with that. Using too much edge control without keeping the hair line clean especially with a protective style is asking for your edges to fall out. So when I use Edge Naturale I make sure my hair line is clean. I don’t have to use as much Edge Control as I once had to before. A lot of that is my hair lays down better.

I used Edge Naturale here too

So if you want your edges to be full and have tried it all before you just keep slapping more edge control on it, take care of them with Edge Naturale.
