Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend! It’s been a great week with a few missteps. I can’t complain it’s been a lot of good so let’s get into it!

Peddler’s Village

I had a great weekend exploring there. Although I have 3 children I elected to take my son with me. I try to do events at times where each child has their one on one time with me. This was his. He really enjoyed the one on one. We did do much. From my time at Chaddsford Winery to his face painting, pony rides, and Bubble Magic Show. If you haven’t had the chance to read it make sure you catch it! Peddler’s Village is celebrating Peach Month!

Coda

Coda is steaming today on AppleTV today! A story of a child who is the only hearing person in her family. Navigating life in their world but having to make a decision if she should pursue her dreams too. It’s a tear jerker, informative, and well crafted comedy and personable story! It’s out today and is a must watch! I enjoyed watching this movie as I was invited by Allied Global Marketing. Also I enjoyed seeing so many of our deaf community members there as well!

Main Line Today Restaurant Week

It’s coming August 23rd-September 5th. It’s the first year for them holding it. Restaurants will have 3 course deals being held either for take out, indoor or outdoor dining. Go to each restaurant’s website to see what the offerings are. Thanks to Aversa PR and Main Line Today for having us!

Preview Dinner Tour

My fellow Foodies and I enjoyed a preview dinner at 3 locations: Terrain Cafe, Pizzeria Vetri, and Amistrattoria! Each of them were some of the most beautiful vibes I had been in!

Terrain Cafe

If you live in or near Philadelphia and have been to a Terrain Cafe the vibes are unmatched. There’s plants, beautiful lighting, the food is amazing and the drinks are perfect.

Pizzeria Vetri

Who doesn’t love an amazing pizza? Their pizza is house made and fermented. Oh and you must try their Limoncello Spritz. The hospitality is hands down great. The food tastes as fresh as it’s made. You will love your time there! Check out their menu! One of the things I loved while there, not all pizza is created equal! I love that you can see the chef make the pizza while you wait. I highly recommend this.

Amis Trattoria

Amis means friends. The vibes are elegant and it’s about bringing people together. Their shareable options are so good. We had dessert and what I thought would be coffee. I was surprised to try their drinks as well!

Made with a loving pour, they were a perfect ending. They have a wine bottle shop that you can choose your bottle that is taken to your table or take one home. It’s warm and inviting and a great place for friends but an even better place for date night. Make reservations now!

Conversations with Toi-Check in

A new episode is out. We have guest Debbie Ausburn, Social worker turned Attorney and Author.

Posted Thursday-out Today!

Her book, “Raising Other People’s Children: What Foster Parenting Taught Me about Bringing Together A Blended Family” is out and we discuss it. It’s available on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles!

WPEB 88.1 Boxing on Brooklyn

I am a guest on WPEB. Although it’s a local channel you can download a radio tuner and listen it wherever you are. Hosts Crystal Custus and Isaiah Gibson sit down and talk about my journey with anxiety and how I’ve navigated that space while living and moving in Philadelphia! I hope you listen in! I was inspired listen to the ways I’ve have made so many changes to my mental and emotional wellness!

Weekend Vibes

I will be relaxing a bit. There is a new mask mandate in Philadelphia. The mandate states that no matter if you’re vaccinated or not, masks are a requirement in public spaces. The severity of the madate doesn’t bother me but many are irritated by it. Many of the restaurants and public spaces are requiring patrons to prove that they are vaccinated. I am planning on paying attention to the news. I have plans of possibly going to a sunflower farm as well as my normal bi-weekly nail appointment, and enjoying my family!

Back to School

Our children don’t go back until after Labor Day! I’m awaiting news to see if there will be an online version available at my children’s school. The kids are slated to return to the traditional classroom. I’m nervous! The oldest  kid is vaccinated and my younger two aren’t! My middle child, my son, has really bad asthma. This entire pandemic we didn’t experience a need to use their inhaler or even a cold. Sending them to schools means an influx of germs. I’m praying their immune system is strong. I’ve watched them be at a point of having to be almost intubated without this virus!

Have an amazing weekend! Enjoy yourself and do at least one activity that fills you!
