Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday. Today I hope brings you joy and peace. I wanted to do my check in to talk about what’s happening or on the horizon. Today I am in a funky mood. Nothing that would mean that I can’t function. Tomorrow I will be going to pay my respects to one of my favorite mentors. It’s been heavy on my heart since I found out. Last week I have been out of my element, so I was glad to also have a little slow like week.  This pick up at the end of the week has been pretty okay. I am grateful for those who checked in on me and for having the best kids a woman can asked. They have stepped all the way up noticing my energy and being there to assist with extra things around the house and unasked for the win.

As you should know I made the announcement on Thursday that with partnership with Blogher I will be attending the Blogher 20 Parenting conference scheduled on April 24th in Nashville, Tennessee. I can’t wait. Nashville is on my list, and I can cross it off of my lists of places to see. If you have any suggestions on great places to eat or things to do feel free to leave them in the comments. I also can’t wait to find me some cut boots and hat. I know I am being extra, but it wouldn’t be me if I don’t. If you are a blogger, influencer, or creator that has kids or moves in your element and space with kids like I do this is the best conference for you. I didn’t mention it was free? Yup. Its free but space is limited so apply here.

Today and all the way through April 26 at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens is the art exhibit Warren Muller, On and Off the Wall. When I say stunning, I truly mean it. The artwork is breathtaking. I don’t know if it was because I was at the special preview or not, but the sense of peace was definitely there. Muller has done an amazing job. It also was my first but not my last time at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens. It was like I was in Philly, but the Gardens took me to another place. Everything about the spacing is beautiful.

Here are the pricing for future references:

This weekend outside of taking the trip to Penn State which I am looking forward to outside of it being because of the funeral is just being on the campus. I love everything that Penn State made me. I will however make sure that I stop at my favorite spots and make sure I replace some of my Penn State gear. I will be doing a special blog to drop in the morning to talk about my mentor. Its important for me to put into my own words what my mentor meant and what he did for me that made me successful in life and at Penn State. FYI I’ve gotten full support of his family to do so!

Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. I also will be finalizing the Women History blogs this weekend and releasing them all month long. I can’t wait to share these dynamic women with you.

Tonight

I’ll be at Azuka Theatre to see Ship by Douglas Williams for the media opening night. It’s about Nell who comes home after being in rehab to find a classmate who tried but failed to grow the longest nails in the world and to be promoted to the biggest high profile job in town. Blog to follow in the afternoon tomorrow!!

DO something for yourself that makes you smile. Life is short and we know that but its important for our time here to be that of peace. Also, for those who sent me messages I only could get through 5 minutes of the Kobe Bryant memorial. It was too much for me but in time I will have to get it off of my dvr. Have a great day and an amazing weekend!
