Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. I hope your week was successful. This week has quite a lot of things happen and I couldn’t be more grateful. So with that said we prep for Halloween, weekend events, and more let’s get into the highs and lows of the week. With my kids I always ask them their highs and lows of the days and what ways can they turn their lows into wins.

Highs of the Week

It was a semi calming week with media events. I was able to rest, get things done, and hit the goals that I set. Some of the goals I hit a lot sooner than I even anticipated. So cheers for the win. I experienced a lot of clarity and that happens a lot when there is some down time. While working on the holiday guide which is coming soon, I found that I had so much good ideas come my way. Along with those good ideas were the resources to pull it off too. Anyone who knows that big ideas come with a price tag knows exactly what I mean. Having the support of so many makes things align well. Here’s a little tip for when it doesn’t-don’t stop!

Lows of the Week-Friday Recap

I had to have a few difficult conversations about the way I do my business with others. One thing you have to develop is thick skin. Some of us think we have it until a hardship comes into play. When you have to tell people you love and respect no to preserve your own mental health you will get to see who is supportive or only supportive of the outcomes they can get from you. Turning this down feeling into a win, the opportunity allowed me to close one door while having another one open. Do not be afraid to be the bad guy at times and command respect from those in your circles and beyond.

Third Love, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and AnaOno

This week I was asked to come and participate with Third Love, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and AnaOno for No Bra day this past Wednesday. It was my honor as these organizations combined are a source of power for women. Having these brand supply strength, resources for women dealing with cancer, empowering them to feel and look their best, and to help those who have fought the battle and are living with reconstruction or no breast at all was inspiring. I felt honored to be there.

In addition to being there they also gave me a free bra fitting and bra. This was absolutely amazing as I think the last time I was fitted for a bra was before or right after the birth of my children. I soon discovered like many women that I was not in my proper size. Ladies I can’t encourage you enough to get the right size. Once in my sizing I felt so much better. No more spillage or tightness. The bras at Third Love are stunning and come in half sizes too. As uncomfortable as I initially I thought about the women who for whatever reason usually health elect to have their breast removed. How do they feel when they are in these spaces? So my fitting expert, Tiara took good care of me.

This Weekend Events that is Ending

If you are in the Philadelphia area, the Cirque du Soleil Bazaar is here but the last day is on Sunday. Get your tickets. I can’t stress enough how fun this show is. I will be taking my family to see it and it will be the second time I will be seeing it. This show has a little of something for everyone. If you like circus like food they have you covered. Parking is free and they even have a beer garden where you can also get cocktails. So make it a family friendly weekend.

Bounce the City

This is your last weekend to get the kids jumping in the largest way. Not only do I have a savings code, I highly encourage adults to join in on the fun too. I personally jumped all around and it was the best workout that I needed. In addition, there are plenty of food trucks to cool you down. Bring an extra pair of socks, and check out the blogpost and get your tickets using code, TOITIME15.

Who is Halloween Ready? Safety and Scary Levels Deactivated

So growing up as you heard on the podcast was a challenge around Halloween. There was absolutely no dressing up from the age of 10 and up. The significance of being 10 was that my parents had just joined a new church and that was frowned upon. It was then that I knew the freedoms that we once experienced up until that point would be over.

This isn’t to convince you one way or another on what to do. You have to make your own decision. However now I’m more on the level of trunk or treat. I haven’t taken my kids traditionally trick or treat outside of Clark Park and that was only twice. The reason is simple I’m not convinced that it’s safe especially in Philadelphia.

For those who need Halloween ideas when it comes to decorations, buckets, costumes and more Target has you covered:
