So if you know anything about me you should know I absolutely love SpongeBob. Even before having children of my own I watched it regularly. Now that I do have children we do enjoy watching him and his friends do the most in their underwater adventures. Now SpongeBob and his friends are at an away camp called Kamp Koral.  This is a spinoff where you see 10 year old SpongeBob and his friends enjoy their new camp experience away from home.

Lessons to be Learned

As with any of the episodes there are some amazing lessons to be learned. In Kamp Koral, SpongeBob and his friends, Patrick and Sandy learn the basics of making new friends and trying something new. As kids grow up and go to things like camp they may struggle with making new friends. When kids get into new environments no matter what the activity it may be, the newness of socializing can be difficult for many. For instance, everyone knows how much SpongeBob loves catching jellyfish. However in the first episode of the 14, 2-disc series SpongeBob struggles. His friends come to his aid and turn Squidward into a jellyfish just to boost his confidence. Isn’t that what good friends do?

Adventures in Kamp Koral

There are many adventures to be had at Kamp Koral. Kids and adults of all ages will laugh and enjoy the fun. From camp stories in “Are you Afraid of the Dark” episodes to finding the treasures in “Treasures of Kamp Koral” it will a fun time. SpongeBob will always find a way to turn around even if it is indirectly in his time at Kamp Koral. It’s also good to see the introduction of things such as archery and swimming. It opens kids’ imagination on what to expect at camp or trying things they may not necessarily see.

Kamp Koral’s Watch Time

This is a 2-disc set that has 13 episodes for a combined watch time of 292 minutes. This is great for parents to watch as little or more at one sitting. We spread the watch time for the course of a few days. My oldest who is almost a teenager actually got mad when I turned it off. Again this is a video that all ages can do. We also talked about our own camp experiences while watching it. Somethings like swimming was neutral to most experiences. However when Mr. Krab was riding the camp goers down the mountain that was all in good fun.

Other Themes in Kamp Koral

You will also see SpongeBob away from home for the first time. This is a great way to talk about should your child experience that for the first time. My kids and I talked about it as my oldest two are looking to do an away camp for the first time this Summer. Although the antics of SpongeBob are different at Kamp Koral some of the themes as missing family, being scared, or hoping that you meet and make new friends are all the same.

I highly recommend this for all ages. It’s a laugh for sure. Although we all know that SpongeBob is a magnetic for trouble as long as he has his friends by his side, there’s nothing he can’t do. You will be singing along to the theme song in no time. If you have been watching the SpongeBob show you know that its now in a 3d-model.

I will be giving away one DVD courtesy of Nickelodeon on Tuesday March 22, 2022. Be sure you are following me on Instagram to win a copy.

Thanks to Nickelodeon and congratulations on celebrating your 42nd year as the number one brand for kids.
