Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Wednesday. This week has been going a lot smoother than most weeks. With that said it’s time for our weekly check-in. In our weekly check-in we discuss what is working and what needs to be improved and any call to attention that needs to happen for the week.

Will Smith and Chris Rock

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars live in front of the entire world. There have been so many that have so many views of it. Some that are dead against it calling for Will to be arrested, his Oscar taken, and more. There are others who are on Team Will and agree that he needed to defend his wife. The others are on Team Chris and say that it was completely uncalled for. There are some who are riding the middle. This is more complicated then a slap.

This requires a look into what the next steps should be. The amount of think pieces that have come from this is out of pocket. Use your time wisely and be protective of your peace. I personally came off of social media.

Women’s History Month Panel

I had the honor of being one of the panel speakers for the Women’s History event held at Manam Indian Cuisine. It was a collaboration with Navixha and Jaisri. The theme was Sidelines to Spotlight: The Changing Role of Women. The main speaker was Senator Maria Collett. It was great hearing how she started as an attorney and went into nursing. She learned how to be there and get the answers for her patients. As a Senator she is now able to advocate for her district in better ways now having that experience The room was filled with dynamic women from all backgrounds and it was an amazing time.

Self Care on a Thousand-Wednesday Joy

So I had some time to create content without disruption. I didn’t have to leave my house if I didn’t want to. Since helping one of the PR here is the city, my time to do the things that I love have had to be adjusted. I am still creating content but now its more on a schedule that has to be rigid. Back to creating even if the content is on a deadline with freedom has been nothing but joy. I also signed a new contract and create video content for a parenting app. So if you see my face, let me know.

Wednesday self care

Since I had agreed to attend an event on Saturday which was all day I took the time to increase my self care in-between my content creating. It was everything. it set the tone as I start a huge media run of events in the next couple of weeks and months.

Zoey Lyndon’s Big Move to the Lou

If you didn’t read yesterday’s blog featuring Micheal Anderson please do. It’s a coming of age story that follows Zoey Lyndon as she moves from Philadelphia to St. Louis. Her learning how to navigate a new school and life bring it a discovery of friendship and more. This is apart of a series and I will have the second part of the series for you on Saturday.

Wednesday Wisdom

Be consistent. Do not ever be so afraid to step out and do something different that you miss an opportunity. I had an opportunity that came to me simply because they came across my accounts. Think about what you want to say. I know some who only care about having a viral moment. Viral moments may get you fast recognition but being consistent will get you steady recognition. So create. Do what you love. Enjoy the process but don’t give up. I know the long days that all of us have to put in feel uncomfortable. Trust yourself through this.

You will be seeing updates to the site as we head into a new month. Can you believe that its the end of the month already? I can’t. I am honestly grateful for calendars I almost forgot that it was so close. So new month means new goals and I am glad for it.

Coming Up:

Kun-Yang Lin Dancers are here with their opening season starting on April 8th at 7:30 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. This is a must see performance. I will be there at one of the performances because I love supporting the arts. For tickets please use code Wally5 to save $5 off.

Happy Wednesday and enjoy the rest of the week. The podcast, Conversations with Toi is still on a break and we will be back next Friday. In the meantime enjoy listening to the episode on The Arner Adventures that I was the guest podcast.
