A Weekend of Connection: Our Anniversary Staycation at Hilton Penn’s Landing

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a staycation at the Hilton Penn’s Landing, and it was everything we needed—elevated, intentional, and deeply restorative.

From the moment we arrived, the energy shifted. The waterfront views offered a quiet kind of luxury, and the staff made us feel like we were exactly where we belonged. Our room was spacious and serene, with floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the city skyline like a living postcard. We ended up canceling our original staycation plans and I’m glad that we did.

Culinary Highlights That Deserve Their Own Applause

Let’s talk about the food—because it was outstanding. From the first bite to the last sip, every dish felt curated with care. We indulged in a romantic dinner at Keating’s Rope & Anchor Bar + Kitchen, where the ambiance was warm and inviting. The blackened salmon were perfectly seasoned, and the cocktails? Smooth, balanced, and celebratory. I highly recommend the burnt orange margarita. Breakfast the next morning was just as memorable—fresh fruit, buttery croissants, and coffee that actually woke us up in the best way.

My husband enjoyed his steak and shrimp. He stated it was really good. They also started us off with a class of champagne. Champagne is always a great idea for us.

Other highlights from our stay

They had us in the owners room and parlor. This gave us 2 bedroom and 2 baths to use. Not that we used both. I love having space and views. In addition we enjoyed the heated pool. It stayed opened until 10pm. We dried off in the dry sauna. That relaxation time was so necessary.

At some point a knock on the door came and we were serenaded with chocolate covered strawberries and more champagne.

Why Staycations Matter: Connection, Wellness, and Presence

In a world that glorifies hustle and constant motion, staycations offer something radical: stillness. They allow couples and individuals to pause, reconnect, and prioritize wellness without the stress of travel logistics.

For couples, it’s a chance to rediscover each other outside of routine. To laugh without interruption, to share meals without multitasking, and to simply be. For individuals, it’s a reminder that rest is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Whether you’re solo or partnered, carving out time to recharge is an act of self-respect.

Staycations also support local businesses and help us see our cities with fresh eyes. Hilton Penn’s Landing reminded us that adventure doesn’t always require a passport—sometimes, it’s just a short drive away.

Why stay at the Hilton Penn’s Landing

This anniversary staycation wasn’t just a celebration of love—it was a celebration of presence. We left feeling lighter, more connected, and inspired to make intentional rest a regular part of our lives. They took great care in what we needed. When I say all staff was hands on deck I really mean that. From the bellman to the housekeeping staff they were attentive. Anytime we saw staff they checked in. I haven’t had that level of detail from a hotel in a while. To put things into perspective we do staycations at least once a quarter.
