Annie

I took my kids to see Annie on tour at the Kimmel Center. It was not only an amazing time to see the show, but it was such a good experience that I am encouraging others to expose their kids to the arts. There is something mesmerizing that comes from seeing a classic on Broadway. Annie is timeless and such an uplifting story.

Annie on Tour Vibes

The kids loved one seeing the show but the vibes that were happening during the Kimmel Center’s time. For one the hustle and bustle of getting to you seat is invigorating. As always whatever your start time I would suggest getting there at least 30 minutes ahead. This gives you time to navigate the crowd, take yourself of child that you have present to the bathroom or more. The staff at Kimmel Center will do their best to assist you. So return the courteous nature back to them. We got there in more than enough time to check in and grab our tickets from the Press table. Once inside there are opportunities to take pics before the show. To be honest, since there were so many people we elected to find our seating immediately and move forward.

Picture Taking During the Show

I have to remind you that no picture or video is allowed during the show. There will be an announcement to take your last preshow selfie. Please be respectful of others near you. I found that for the most part patrons were understanding of that. However as always there is always going to be one or two who didn’t adhere to it and were asked to be mindful of that. The actors/actresses work hard to give you their best. Adding pictures and videos stops those behind you from enjoying their time.

Annie is a Classic Story

We all know the story of Annie. An orphan girl who dreamt of her parents coming back for her. As she hold out for hope, she meets Mr. Warbucks who unbeknownst to him takes her in for a time period. They fall in love with one another and not in any other way than a dad and daughter relationship. He decides that he is going to adopt her but as the time comes to do so Annie tells him that she wants to be with her parents. The head of the Orphanage that she is in, brother and girlfriend make a plot to say that they are Annie’s Parents even  though Annie’s parents passed a way a few years ahead. The other girls in the Orphanage save Annie by discovering the plot and springing into action. In the end, Annie is adopted by Daddy Warbucks and goes on to live the happily ever after.

Annie US Tour Kimmel Center

The story is largely the same as the original with some modifications. They don’t show the girls saving Annie. The FBI discovers that Annie’s parents have indeed passed away. Nevertheless, the story is still shown in the most beautiful way including Sandy, Annie’s run away dog that she takes in. I watched how bright my kids’ face lit up. They were mesmerized by all of the timeless and classic songs that we all have grown to love. It was such a beautiful experience. I try to take all of my children as often as I can when its age appropriate to as much of the Arts as I can.

You can take your own family to see Annie on Tour at the Kimmel Center now until Sunday. Get your tickets now. Thank you to the staff of the Kimmel Center, Allied Global, and thanks for the special package that came to the house. My youngest has already claimed the Sandy plush. It was a night that we won’t forget. As we left we discussed Annie and how blessed they were to know and be with their parents. We also talked about how hard working every actress/actor are. The singing is hands down phenomenal. What a great way to spend the mid week!
