Blogs you May have Missed

There has been quite of movement on blogs this week. Often times I get hard on myself. In order for Google to pick you up often times you have to be consistent. Consistency is often times in having 3-4 blogs a week. Thank you for reading and enjoying the content. Blogs coming soon is the Mother’s Day Guide for what moms really want. I state that now because so many people struggle at this holiday.

Culture Wine Series

I had the opportunity to enjoy Kabila Events’ Culture Wine Series. It was a way to gather with like minded people over wine. We learned about Black owned wine such as Yachi Blanc. They came with their own wine tasting. It was delicious. I am not a fan of red wines but this one is making me reconsider as it was so delicious and not sweet or super dry. There were opportunities to do a paint and sip, play games, lounge, drink cocktails, and patron other Black owned products. It was well organized, included live entertainment and the DJ was on point. All in all it was beautiful to see and experience.

Hadestown was a Smash

This production will be leaving on this Sunday. You do not want to miss it. Although I definitely gave you a full review, here are a few other things to keep in mind. This makes a great first timer show as it holds you attention with the singing and theatrics. The show also may or may not give you the ending that you may have considered. It is a great time and if you are looking for something to do this weekend I highly recommend it.

Weekend Fun-Friday Reset

I have made myself a theatre mom this weekend, girls weekend, a media event, and back on track mom duties. Pray my strength. There is a lot to do but I plan to do it while squeezing in some rest, cleaning, and meal prepping. Today I made sure to have a full work from home day prepping content as I have several campaigns coming and am dedicated to getting it done. I have some amazing events to tell you about for next weekend. It seems as if Philly and surrounding areas all planned their events at the same time.

Conversations with Toi Podcast Friday Drop

This week’s episode I talk about religion and how it helps or prevents us from taking care of your mental health. I wrote a blogpost about therapy and the church a few years ago. The premise of this is simple when it comes to getting care. Some people believe that once you pray on it, you’re supposed to let God work and that’s all you can do. If you go to the doctor or Psychologist you lack faith. Church as a whole hasn’t always been receptive to letting folks into your business. I like to debunk that notion.

This week one woman committed the ultimate betrayal to her partner and children. One child as the last I checked was in critical condition and the other died after being thrown from a moving car. Her partner was killed by her hands in the middle of the night. She stated that the Eclipse was the cause when it could have been psychosis that drove her to act in the way that she did. Unfortunately she passed away too in a murder-suicide after running her car and dying on impact. Another woman on TikTok was having a mental breakdown about disaster coming. Again because she spoke of the Lord telling her this it bares the conversation about church and therapy.
