Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday! Another week is upon us. From the Internet crash to attending media events! It has been a crazy week.

Selfish Philly Conference: Last Friday Fun

One of the most relaxing days I’ve had in a long while. From the massages, sound art with Lunamae, panel and discussions it was well worth the day as they said “playing hooky.” Selfish Philly is about reminding women to be selfish in their pursuits of self care. Self care is important. Pouring back into your own cup is a daily job and not just a Sunday self care experience. I met quite a few new people, bought some amazing things, and for one being able to be in zen. You can see my recap reel.

Lastly all of the participants of the conference will receive 12 therapy/coaching sessions. This is huge. Not only is that hundreds of dollars in therapy, it’s also a way to support women beyond the one day. So many women need to have that extra supper and Selfish Philly is that support! Danielle Massi and her team put together an amazing conference. She definitely has a heart for people. Thank you Selfish Philly and The Wellness Collective for having me.

Class of 2000 Reunion

I’m not class of 2020. I was supposed to but I opted to graduate early. My twin continued on with our original class. It was a difficult decision initially because a lot of my friends were class of 2000. My twin invited me to go to their reunion and we had a blast.

All of the food and fun one would expect at a reunion was had. Catching up with everyone’s lives was great. Seeing so many of whom honestly are doing well for themselves. What’s great about going with my twin is everyone remembers us together all the time. So it was hey the twins…that felt great.

Chadds Ford Winery

Adults who love wine and celebrating Halloween will absolutely love Chadds Ford Winery’s Adult Trick or Treat. Your ticket will get you 5 wine offerings with 5 treat pairings as well as a keepsake glass to take home. We had a blast. The tickets are selling fast. At the time of my original blog only Sundays available. At the time of me writing this only Halloween day is available. Remember there are no children permitted to attend. You will love it and of course you can enjoy the food trucks as well as purchase wine to take home. As always you can feel my recap reel.

Also check out the YouTube recap! Subscribe to the channel as I will be attempting to update my videos so much has gone on since a few months ago!

Days Off and Internet Crashes

Monday I enjoyed a full day off. The kids were off and we stayed in pajamas all day. It was amazing. From the traveling to Lancaster to the winery to my home it was a lot. I enjoyed that down time. I read books, drank some wine, and meal prepped. It was all that we needed. Flash forward to the infamous Internet Shutdown. People were besides themselves with stress. I thought something was wrong with my WiFi. Once I realized it wasn’t me via Twitter, I went on with my day! I only knew it was back up after some folks updated on Twitter.

One thing that I learned is that we need people to take more breaks. We need spaces that creatives can own space to operate. We don’t own Facebook or Instagram. You need your own platform. This is why the sting of Bloggers not having a website that they pay for is a little cringey. You need that! Please invest in your business.

Amada Philly

I was finally able to dine at Amada. I have a full blog recap coming tomorrow. For now I will say they take tapas to another level. Amada is apart of the restaurants under the Garces group. The food was absolutely great. The staff knows their menus well and helped me and Siponwhat through the menus. Here’s a preview show of the goodness. This is the Amada empanada. It has spinach, manchego, artichoke escabeche.

Tune in tomorrow for the full review!

Conversations with Toi: Friday Drops

We are talking about mental health day on Sunday October 10th. Giving grace as people tell their stories. Some will share their stories for the first time. People think that people have their stuff together and are experiencing the same ups and downs as everyone else. Todays episode is dedicated to all who are healing from things they don’t speak up on. I speak openly about it because I always hope it helps.

I have a semi low key weekend ahead. This weekend I hope you have a great one. Have a great day and weekend. Cheers to the weekend! Happy Friday!

Congratulations to Tabitha Brown on being the number 1 Best Seller on New York Times. I put my money where I want and not only do I have the hard copy but I also have the Audible version! That book is super encouraging and allows us to learn more about Aunt Tab. Grab the book ASAP!
