Tropicana Chapel

Do you know what today is? It’s our 10th Wedding Anniversary. 10 years of love, ups, and downs and for this special occasion not only did we take a book a Baecation, we also renewed our vows with just he and I. A lot of people do all kinds of things like a photoshoot, a big vacation, or like we did renew your vows. Tropicana Chapel provided us an elegant vow renewal. So what was the vibes for our renewal?

Tropicana Chapel Details

So when we first got married 10 years ago we trusted a family member to take pictures. No disrespect to them but we never got them. It has been a constant thought and conversation about how nice it would be to look back at pictures and video like most couples do. We had none outside of a cell phone pic that is really just me and my dad. I cherish that one picture. Although we plan to do a huge party to celebrate at some point, but we wanted something with simply us. Nothing too big and just for us to have that do over moment and capture it this time. So I joked that we should get married again in Vegas and he didn’t object. So he checked online and found Tropicana Wedding Chapel. They outdid our expectations.

10 Year Marriage and Lessons Learned

I can’t speak for my husband, Marques, but the things that I have learned about myself has been life changing. We have known each other for over 20 years. I met him at 18 years old. I was coming into myself. So many years of having to learn things that I had thought was real. As I stepped into adulthood and then as a parent made me grow up. As a wife, I have to let so many things that were untrue about marriage. I had ideals and thoughts that made no sense and stopped the progression of us simply loving one another without judgement. In the last few years we have become each other’s partner. It hasn’t been easy. Many times I wondered if we were going to make it into year one let alone 5 and now 10. Now I know we have the tools and continue to gather tools to make us stronger.

Tropicana Cares about the Details

Tropicana allowed us to customize our wedding to the way we wanted. We choose our wedding song, Musiq Soulchild “Don’t Change.” This song has so much meaning. He played this song for me as we had a picnic in college. The song stuck with us. In hard times as we have both changed physically. mentally and emotionally in ways that have made sense and no sense at all. They allowed me to walk down the aisle to that song and I will forever cherish. Our vows were officiated by Shay and she was amazing in every way. I loved about the words she said and how we were able to renew our love without a hitch. As we walked down the aisle we danced down the aisle to “No Diggity” by Blackstreet. Nothing about us is traditional in any form.

“No Diggity” is a song that Marques cheesily made into a poem in our Freshman year. So as untraditional as we are, it made nothing but sense for us.

Tropicana and Finally Our Pictures

Jeff our photographer did an amazing job with our photos. Although I am showing some on this blog, it’s not the full collection. We have a lot of photos and videography that is exclusively just for us. I love that. We finally can look back, show the kids, and celebrate our love in a physical sense. Jeff you truly filled a hole that we have had over us our entire marriage. It was such a smile on our face to see this come to fruition.

Non Vegas Vibes with Tropicana Chapel

Often times when you think of Vegas weddings you think cheesy or Elvis. There’s nothing wrong with them at all but that’s not the case for Tropicana Chapel. You get the upscale and elements of an upscale wedding that just so happens to be in Vegas. It’s definitely cost effective to do. So many brides and grooms who think that this is the route to take, make sure you do it with Tropicana Chapel. You will be in the most excellent of hands. Thank you Jeff, Shay, and the entire staff for making us cry, celebrate our 10 years, and gifted us the tangible memories we have been wanting and needing.

Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary to my husband Marques. It’s you and me against the world!
