Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. There is a lot of wonderful things happening in Philadelphia. In addition, this has been a quiet week with a few media events. However, I needed that reset as I prepare to travel for a conference and get my home prepared for my departure.

90s Fundraiser

My younger kids school had a fundraiser and it went well. They have been at this school for 2 years but this was the first time I attended the fundraiser. To say it was fun is an understatement. They do not have to worry about whether or not the Storr parents will support. We are definitely coming back. What I enjoyed was the fun and that it was 90s themed. It’s something about that era of music that makes me so happy. Nonetheless I will always be ready for a good dance. So cheers to the 90s.

Friday Movie Release-Kung Fu Panda

I went to see the preview for Kung Fu Panda with the kids. We really like it. it’s about 1 hour and 30 or so minutes. The movie didn’t linger. It started off with action and held my attention. The kids loved it. I do have to caution for younger kids may have issues viewing this. There is mention of the underworld. My little PK (Preacher’s Kid) heart was able to tap in and see it fully. I say this because if I don’t and once you view it could question me on that.

During the preview we were able to witness a traditional Dragon dance. The kids and I really enjoyed it. A special thanks to Kung Fu Panda for the goodies. The movie is out today-take the family and see it for yourself.

Birthday Celebrations

We had a blast celebrating my youngest. She had a birthday party where she must have invited her whole class. However, the smile on her face being able to celebrate her big day was priceless. In addition, this is honestly her 3 or so birthday party especially since by the time Covid hit, we tried to mix up on and off parties. Nonetheless if you are looking for a birthday party location, consider Smith Playground. They have an indoor space that is spacious. We loved it. We did a paint and sip party and I think it turned out well.

Spring Forward

This weekend we Spring forward. If you missed this week’s blog on daytime savings make sure to check it out. There are a few things you should be doing now to prepare to lose an hour of sleep. Since we know that we are doing moving towards Spring, keep in mind that there will be more light when we come home and want to head out a little after work. I can’t wait. With so many media events it’s always a good thing to have light to illuminate your path.

Be gentle with yourself as you transition. It takes about 5-7 days before your body adjusts.
